Hi folks. It's that time of year to get apples, pumpkins, hot cider, see the foliage, bring a lunch and enjoy a scenic drive in the northwest hills. Yes it's the "Apple picking, hot cider sippin', lunch packin', leaf peepin' fun run! This year it is scheduled for October 15th and will start at 9:00 at the Home Depot parking lot in Glastonbury. We will then head to a apple orchard to feast on fall's bounty, then head to Haystack Mountain in Norfolk for some beautiful sites and enjoy your packed lunch with the rest of the group.

This trip has been done twice in the past and enjoyed by all. Feel free to bring something to share as others have done previously. From there you are on your own to further explore the area or head home. We will guide you or you can follow others from your area.

Please respond at least a week before if you plan to join us so we can plan on the number of people attending. This is a great fun run and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Greg

OOOOPS!
I forgot about the fall meet at Ross' house that day. My BAD. The new date will be the 15th of October. Please excuse me of this faux pas.
Original note edited.

Greg,

You can count Nancy and me in. This fun-run is now on our calendar. There's nothing like a great fall Z-outing with apples, cider, donuts, fritters and of course, good friends.

Alan

This is a great fall drive and I'm sorry to miss it. I will be attending my daughter's Parents Weekend at her college that day.

Thanks for setting this up Greg!

We need to bump this news to the top of the event calendar. It's this time of year again.

Great fun today eating apple fritters with hot cider then cruising out through Barkhampsted to Norfolk's haystack state park for a picnic.
Leaves were great as were the people.
Surprised more people don't do this little trip I will be looking forward to it next year.

Thanks for organizing it Greg ! ! 8)

Greg Emmons "alphabet" fun run from Home Depot in Glastonbury, to Dondero's Orchard for apples, pears, coffee and cinnamon donuts, fresh apple fritters and cider, then on to Barkhampstead Reservoir and Haystack Mountain State Park for a picnic lunch and great conversation.Let's do it again next year, Greg!!

Hopefully a photo album of the day..https://goo.gl/photos/DR8o5xkUcGRvyhy38
