This was a fun trip and a great Z gathering in Rochester! Thanks again to (our member) PreZident John Taddonio for hosting us and making sure we got whatever we needed. It was great to zee our members there and, altho I missed you completely Big Al, I was happy to hear you actually were there with us.

The 470 mile trip up was spectacular and fun from my perspective. Lots of upstate back country to be seen as a Z herd, and frequent stops so I could stop breathing exhaust fumes and walk around until my horizon leveled and my eyes re-focused. We took our time and made it a 10hr trip when it could have been less than 6hr, but just driving the cars that distance together was a great thing in my opinion.

I fell out on Saturday, half victim of dehydration and half of heat stroke and the other half of exhaust inhalation. I skipped Watkins Glen and slept 17hrs in the air-conditioned room and was feeling pretty spry by the time the gang came home, soaking wet and laughing like young fighter pilots returning from a successful mission. Bullfighters probably laugh the same way, but I don't know about them. All their facial expressions and swooping hands and stomping imaginary brake pedals and swinging invisible steering wheels and downshifting made me know they had a good time.

As always, the chow was wonderful and somebody snuck up and paid for my meal before I even got into the line. You know who you are and I will not forget that; thank you very much. I met some very interesting people at the big car show and saw some enviable cars (how do you get Lambo doors on a Z?) and heard some fascinating car stories. Started feeling wooZie again in the afternoon and drove back to that air-conditioning for another nap. Left Monday, stayed in Syracuse on business and returned today. My Z seems to have some issues which I need to tackle this year as soon as I can.

All in all, I had a great time and am already looking forward to next year! :D

Got back late yesterday from our side trip to the 1000 Islands (well worth the trip) had a blast at the glen as usual and the hospitality of the ZCCR club was excellent as usual, we skipped out on the car show as the weather was iffy and spent the day back roading to the 1000 islands. I must say after spending so much time in the heat with no a/c I really miss that luxury

I,too, just got back yesterday from my side trip to Niagra Falls. I was told that I was there when I was six months old, but I can't seem to remember. .....Watkins Glen raceway, the Shriners Damascus Center BBQ and Sundays car show were outstanding. I got my first ever trophy, just as Frank T said I probably would. Thanks Frank for your positive energy. Great turn out and friendly people from Rhode Island (Hi Paul) to Ontario, Canada. Thank you CTZCC members on this road trip for welcoming me into the club and into their circle of friends. John Taddonio went out of his way to make me feel welcome to this Rochester Z car club event AND for his willingness to test drive my Z for a drivetrain performance opinion. Saved me $$$. Thank you for a memorable weekend.
JohnnyZ - I enjoyed meeting you and Michael and harassing you about sharing the A/C from our cars.
FM6 - Sorry I didn't have a chance to say bye to you and Barbara. It was great meeting you both.
Paul- Your Chance tickets won you a hat that says "Shift Happens" and a $25 Off Certificate on Wheel repair located in Rochester. .. I gave that certificate to our host- John T. to donate to a worthy person of his choice.

Frank T.- Thanks for pushing me to go on this trip. I might have come up with a solution to locate your exhaust gas leaks. PM me ............. if you wish to hear my thoughts.Feel better Bro.

Howard Jay

I'm back home as well, Alive and in one piece, and had a Great time the whole time. the caravan of Z's was awesome....and eventful. I missed the Friday night event, but that's ok, got some rest, sat in the Jacuzzi, and was ready to go to WG the next day.....and what an awesome time that was. Great to see little Red make it in there, another awesome move. It's a little odd driving s l o w on a race track, but it was still a great privilege and really appreciate the ZCCR for the Great event they put on, and there kind hospitality, thank you very much. It was also great meeting all the Canadians around the bomb fire, great group of people.....and I'll be seeing all of them again in 2 weeks. I'll save the rest of the stories for ZCON, they get better..........right now I have a Z to get ready, and lots of veggie's to pick....Z ya soon. :D
