Having drive shaft issues and the parts may not make the deadline . . . . . will know more by Friday at the latest.

Karl:

If your Z is missing parts, then your Z is the "maybe", not YOU!

Drive a different car, hitch a ride with someone else, whatever it takes to get there. Take my word for it: you will regret it if you miss this event simply because you couldn't bring the Z!

Quick reminder that the SEVENTH ANNUAL BOB SHARP DAY at Lime Rock Park is this Saturday July 11th from 11am to 2pm.

Bob Sharp Day at Lime Rock is always a favorite among club members. We will be serving a free club-provided BBQ/picnic lunch for everyone.

Friends, family, etc. are all welcome to join us - admission to Lime Rock is expected to be FREE for everyone on the day of the event.

In order to have sufficient food/drink, we are asking that everyone please RSVP for this event. Simply send me an email (webmaster@ctzcc.com) or post a reply in this thread. Please be sure to include the number of people who will be coming with you.

This will be an informal gathering with Parade laps on the track possible for Z cars only - participants will not race.

Lime Rock Park is located at:
60 White Hollow Road
Lakeville, CT 06039

Zxy; You should enter off the White Hollow Road back gate. The "main entrance" ("Ticket Office") at 497 Lime Rock Road is not used unless they have a race in progress. Regardless what entrance you use, we gather at the upper infield, above the Sam Posey straight (front straight), btwn the Infield Chalet and the Autocross track. The whole infield is atop a hill; if you just keep driving "up", you'll end up in the upper infield with us. They're somewhat sensitive to speeders on the infield roads, so try to keep everybody smiling. Any time I've tried to go fast there I've missed a turn.

Ask for directions to the AutoX track or the Infield Chalet; you'll zee us parked in a long line along the road. We've often gathered btwn 70-100 cars for this event, so we'll be easy to find. Be sure to tell them you're with Bob Sharp (how many time might you get to say THAT?) so they don't charge you any admission.

Looking fwd to zeeing you there. What are you driving?
Frank

WHAT A GREAT DAY.
What a huge turnout.
What good food.
What fun!

Thanks to Al Dempsey for setting up the morning caravan and getting us all to LRP exactly on time. He choZe the most-beautiful morning route we could possibly have asked for in a Z.

An excellent salute by the CTZCC for Our Hero, Bob Sharp. Great to zee all the outstanding Zs from NY and NJ, too. Those guys must be a lot richer than we are. 8)Great cars, guys.
Excellent turnout by our own Club members; there must have been about 100 cars there again this year. Bob made an excellent, entertaining and informative presentation. Then he took us out onto the track for some parade laps, to practice the techniques he had told us about.

With so many cars on the 1.5 mile track, I was only able to hit 75mph once. Pace car Bob Sharp had the last car in his gunsights at the end of the first lap, so we couldn't push the pace much. It was fun and I got to slide thru turn 3 once. My gratitude to our visitor Al Segan, who was kind enough to ride along with me and video our LRP on-track experience. He said I didn't scare him, but he might have just been being polite. Either way, we left him with a good bar story to tell.

Chow was good and I think there was some left over after I couldn't eat any more.
Thanks to all who worked to put this together, and to Diego Perry, who learned a few things about Black Pearls today.
