The thought (may become a plan) is to meet in Southbury at the shopping center on Rt67 just north of I84 exit 15.
Continue north on Rt67 through Woodbury, Roxbury and Bridgewater to New Milford.
Turn right and north on Rt202 through Northville, Marbledale to New Preston to Rt45.
Follow Rt45 through Warren to Rt7 north, hang a right on Rt 112 west to Lime Rock Park.
Google says the drive time from Southbury following this route is 1 hour. We can gather at MickeyD's in Southbury between 9:00 - 9:30. Arrival at
Lime Rock will be 10:30 or shortly after.
This is a very pleasant drive through the Connecticut countryside. Hope to have a few Zs join in.

Alan

Hmmm.....that route goes within 3 miles of Vinny's shop. Maybe he could be kidnapped and dragged along?

I'll be coming from RI, and driving what vehicle I'm not sure yet. I'll probably try to caravan with Paul / Patty Mackin, Robin and Big Al.

I'm heading up from Fairfield/Bridgeport area. If MickyDs in Southbury is firmed up, I'll join you all for the ride up to Lime Rock.

Glad to see 2 or 3 will join in. For a while I thought I was doing a solo act.

Frank: GPS...McDonald's at 100 Main St N, Southbury, CT 06488. This McDonalds is not visible from Rt 67. It's in a shopping plaza.

This shopping center is on Rt67 just north of I84 at Exit 15 from either direction.
The plan is to meet at 9:00 for coffee and leave at 9:30. If anyone will be a tad late call my cell 203-687-8053.

Hope to have a few more join in.

Alan

Nancy and I took a ride to Durham for an ice cream last night and met a young man, from Middletown, named Max with his magnificent '08 red 350Z Nismo. I approached with a "spotted" card and mentioned the two events next week. He was aware of the Bob Sharp event at Lime Rock and was planning to attend.

Soooo Max, if you by chance read this message, check out the caravan plans and the July meeting listed above.
It was nice to meet you.

I received an email from Joey at the NYZCC who would like to join a caravan to LR. He's part of a group from the NYZCC and the NJZCC who are coming, so it would be awesome if they could link up with a CTZCC caravan.

Here's his email:
"The NJZCC & NYZCC are meeting along the Hutchinson Parkway and wanted to meet up with the CTZCC car-a-van, but the Southbury location is too far out of our way. I was hoping to maybe meet with them somewhere along Route 7, but don't actually know their intended route."

Alan (or anyone else): perhaps you can add a meeting point (along with a meeting time) that would work for our friends coming from NY and NJ?

- Jim

Hello CTZCC crew,
I was having trouble signing into the site to ask about the intended route up the Lime Rock from Southbury. I see Jim has gone ahead and posted part of my email (thank you, Jim).
I'll notify the NY & NJ crews about possible meet locations upon your response.
Looking forward to tomorrow.

Should we maybe try to make a few brief stops along the way, in hopes of letting them join us? Is there enough time for that? Or would that complicate and mangle the schedule? Maybe too close to the end of the fuse to add details now?

It would be cool to join them with us if it wouldn't jumble the schedule.

Frank

All,

The group leaving Southbury at 9:30 can alter and pick up Rt 7 at New Milford. We can make a stop at Kent Falls State Park and head north from there. If anyone knows of another spot, please let me know. Nothing is set in concrete except the leave and arrival times.

Our timing should be to arrive at New Milford at 10:00. Kent Falls is roughly 10-12 miles from there. Kent Falls has a parking lot that should accommodate our groups. Bear in mind it will be a beautiful Saturday morning and there will be traffic. The goal will be to leave Kent Falls around 10:30 to reach Lime Rock around 11:00.

Please let me know if this will work. Make note of my cell 203-687-8053. It would be a shame to leave someone behind.

Alan

Please be adviZed there is not a lot of cellphone coverage at LRP. Many services don't operate there. It may be prudent to make any needed calls earlier rather than wait until there's no service.
