I wanted to share with you a great event for a great cause.

The Friends of Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital will be hosting the 16th Annual Festival of Great Cars and Great Food on Sunday May 24th. Proceeds from the event benefit this outstanding children's hospital.

The day begins at CT Car Storage in Shelton. First there will be a gourmet breakfast followed by a Q&A session with Wayne Carini, host of Velocity Channel's popular “Chasing Classic Cars” TV show.

From Shelton, the 40+ cars (ranging from daily drivers" to exotics) will caravan to Boothe Memorial Park in Stratford, where lunch will be provided. This year, the Festival will feature the food of award-winning BBQ pit master, Chad Cyr, who will offer a range of slow smoked delicacies, including ribs, salmon and Cajun rubbed chicken.

There will also be a charity auction which, in recent years, has featured great items like a weekend-long Porsche rental and high-end auto detailing, and much more.

It's a truly terrific event that provides crucial financial support to a world-class hospital. Please see the attached overview, schedule and registration form.

I hope to see you there!

- Jim
