Fantastic! This was the location of my very first CTZCC meeting several years ago, and of all the great meetings we have every year, I've got to say this location stands out in my mind the most. Stand-out moments for me at that meeting were: meeting Steve Sunbury for the first time and chatting with him about his beautiful 280z; listening to Rick Morgan tell the story of Lucky 13, and seeing Phil's silver/blue 280zxt with my own eyes for the first time.

...and the backdrop of Keith's marina was the icing on the cake!

Thanks for Keith and the other officers for putting this together.. again. Hopefully I'll see you all there

I zee Chris' 280z Carrot Car in the picture. Wish we could get it back there again this summer. Wonder how he's doing with it?

I've lined up a different type of guest speaker for this meeting. For the last 3+ years I've been training in Martial Arts (Tang Soo Do) at Sunnyside Martial Arts in Haddam, CT. I've invited my Instructor, Mr. Chad Zawisza, to give us some real world self defense instruction and demonstration. Participation will be encourage so you can learn some of the techniques.

Mr. Z has been training in the Martail Arts since 2004. He currently holds his 3rd degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do and is currenty training for his 4th Degree Master's belt. He also has training in the art of Japanese hard style Aikido, Philppine knife and stick fighting, and small circle Jujitsu. He is also a Board Member of the New England Tang Soo Do Federation and active in the Federation's Leadership program.
Visit: http://www.sunnysidemartialarts.com

Should be an interesting evening.

Mr Z. also owns Sunnyside Marine Upolstery. He was the one who installed the leather seats in my old 300ZX.

Mr. Z? How appropriate. You just can't make this stuff up. I'm so glad our VP and photographer Phil Parent has agreed to spar with Mr. Z. I always suspected Phil was a tough guy under that clean-cut exterior.

We'll be less than 7 miles away from Katherine Hepburn's life-long home in Fenwick. Why don't we cruise that sometime?

Looking forward to the June meeting at Island Cove, Old Saybrook. I missed the May meeting to answer the call of a cruise to the beautiful island of Bermuda with friends.

Frank: The cruise to Fenwick sounds like a great idea. Never been there. There must be some good seafood in the area. This might even be something Nancy and I can do without a lot of planning. It sure beats driving the 79,80,81, 95 route and visiting the Outlets upon Westbrook AGAIN!

I'm pretty sure we would have to view it from a distance. Katherine painted the signs herself and became famous as a recluse. Howard Hughes and Clark Gable loved her place for the solitude and privacy.

It's presently for sale, for around $30M. Maybe we could convince them we were prospective buyers, looking for a place of our own to use as a Z Clubhouse? 8)

Here's a tour. If we can't hold meetings in this place, we're beyond hope. Picture Ross holding the Annual Fall Outing here? The piZZa and soda would be replaced by Lobster Newburg, clams casino and champagne.

You can get as close as one of your pictures there Frank in the link you provided.

The road that runs along the second hole of the Golf Course and gaze across the salt Pond at the back of her home or park as many people do and walk to the pier to look from the front.

If we all put our boats in at Island Cove we could ride over in Z boats and see it up close.
I'm hoping for good weather so I can drive the roadster into the office (Hamden) and drive
over for the meeting on the 11th. Sorry to say I've been remiss at meeting attendance, but
what a great place to start.
Jack

One week away. The Marina is looking good!

Please remember not to exceed 20 mph on Sunrise Ave.

Thanks.
