ZCCR's MOTORFEST pre-registration numbers have blown through the roof! More than ever before!

If you haven't registered and still want to be a part of this fantastic event (IT'S THIS WEEKEND!), let me know and we will get you signed up. TIME IS SHORT! There are very few slots open for laps at Watkins Glen and the banquet "may" have room for a couple more. It's crunch time! Don't wait!

Full info here: http://www.zccr.net/main/Uploaded/2014_ ... n_6.13.pdf

PS - If you need more information on hotels, see an earlier post in this thread OR email me, I'll hook you up!

it's gonna be EPIC. :D

Really looking fwd to this.
I highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't already experienced one.
Those who have already been to one need no encouragement.

Our member Dave Levinson will again bring his 510 Bob Sharp Tribute car to show. Can't see that little bomb often enough! :D

I can't wait either Frank! I'm tempted to head up today and just camp out and greet people as they arrive. Getting the last minute prep done on the Dime and pulled the fuel tank today for cleaning. Noticed some silt in the filter, and she started acting up 8 miles away from home on my way back from Ct. last week. She started topping out at 90mph. All's good now, flushed her all through and pegged the speedo again. Zee you there shortly! ;)

Packing today, leaving in the morning. Zee you in the lobby, bobby. WHAM weather forecasts three nice days for your event; low 80s, low humidity, mostly sunny, slight chance of sprinkles overnight when it doesn't matter.

Does the RIT have free WiFi?

Let's rock. 8)

Leaving tomorrow AM myself with my wife. . . . . Frank what route are you taking ?
I'll be on the NYS Thruway (90) from where it starts in mass all the way . . . . staying down the street from RIT. . . . . is there group parking for the attendees' Friday night?

Yes, Frank things are shaping up nicely! Spoke to the Glen today, they are ready for us to take to the track on Saturday, RIT has awesome menus prepared for Friday and Saturday and the show on Sunday is exploding with cars, motorcycles, and vendors from all over!

And the RIT does have WiFi, and lots of free parking in front and in back. :D

For anyone traveling up for this event on NY 90 that is not familiar with the habits of the NY SP and County Sheriffs . . . they lurk most place there are trees in the median.

Well, I'm back home again. Just 70 miles out my alternator died, and I returned home. I wasn't about to try a whole weekend driving on the battery, especially if any of it was at night.
Called Vinny, he got another one for me and I went and got it. I'll install it myself this weekend. I called John T and told him, then cancelled my reservations at the RIT hotel. I guess this just wasn't meant to be.
Looking at the good side, at least I broke down fairly close to home near Springfield, instead of halfway across the NYS thruway. And the Z actually got me back home. And I'm glad Vinny could find an exact replacement for the special 90amp alternator he installed nearly 6 years ago, on short notice.
And I got to put about 150 miles on the Z today, which is always a good thing, even when you're nervous about it quitting at any moment.

I really really was looking fwd to zeeing you guyz in Rochester and The Glen this year.
God moves in mysterious ways. For some reason I wasn't meant to make this trip this year.

Funny, we were just talking about alternators and regulators, and recalling how mine went bad on a cross-country trip in 1976. Maybe my Z overheard us?

Anyway, I expect to have it back in the running in time for Bob Sharp Day next weekend.

Backup car was available, but I couldn't see taking a family SUV around Watkins Glen. Somebody did that last time I went and a whole line of Zs got stuck behind a woman driving a slow Mazda SUV around a racetrack. RIght in the CENTER of the racetrack. I remember what I wanted to do to that driver, and I don't want anybody feeling that way about me.

Plus, I couldn't get my hands on the alternator until nearly 1600, and got stuck in the most ridiculous traffic jams going both ways, so by the time I got home it was too late to start out for Rochester. I had been up since 0545 and by that time I had already driven more than 300 miles today, and was still at home! :? Another 7 hrs would have killed me.

It just wasn't meant to be.
