Also, is it OK to pay and register at the door when we get there?

Frank, all, it's perfectly fine to pay when you arrive, however I would ask that you send in your registration ASAP as spots for track time at the Glen and the Banquet are limited. There is still plenty of space available, but as the event draws nearer it fills up fast. If you wish to defer payment until arrival, just send in your registration to Frank McGinley as instructed with a note that you will pay when you arrive, as authorized by ZCCR Prez John Taddonio!

And yes, the "Three Pineapples" will be parked together on the show field once again. For those of you who don't know the story, three 1970 240Zs were all sold off the same lot at Datsun of Hawaii in Honolulu at the same time in the summer of 1970. Those three cars were mine #3833, ZCCR member Shawn Pritchard's #3862 and your own Frank Thomas' #2807 (did I get the number right Frank? ). Here they are today, half a world away and 44 years later!

TRUE.

Hello ZCCR Motorfest fans! Here's an update on ZCCR's MOTORFEST coming up July 18-20.

Due to circumstances beyond our (or anyone's!) control, the Josie Waverly Band will be unable to perform at our Saturday July 19 evening charity dinner / auction. However, we've adapted a different twist for our guests to spice up the evening's entertainment!

Our plans for the evening have been revised with an eye towards getting our guests intimately involved with each other for a rich, rewarding and exhilarating experience. Upon our arrival to the hotel ballroom area we'll recount stories of our laps at "THE GLEN" and the other day's activities over hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. We follow that up with a buffet style banquet in the hotel ballroom that leads into an opportunity to bid for charity on some great automotive and specialty items...there'll be something of interest for everyone, we promise! Before we're done, we'll take a trip back in time with a screening of the 1971 race film "some People Collect Stamps" shot during that year's SCCA championship race season.

Here's the new twist:

Be alert during the early evening, perhaps as you mix and mingle, a "murder" is likely to occur amongst us, yet no one knows the perpetrator of the crime. It's soon to be your turn to become a "sleuth" as you talk with other guests, examine clues and information, ask the right questions and determine "WHO DONE IT?". Do good detective work, arrest the right person and you might just earn a great prize!

It's sure to be a fun-filled evening for everyone! Cocktails & Appetizers, a scrumptious buffet dinner, a charity auction of awesome unique and collectible items, a screening of a historic SCCA race film and a laugh-filled "WHODUNNIT" mystery!

It's a GREAT weekend of enthusiast events:
FRIDAY - Kickoff Party at the host hotel
SATURDAY - Road tour to Watkins Glen International, 3 laps in your car!
SAT. EVENING - Charity dinner/auction/1971 SCCA film presentation/"Murder Mystery" in our midst!
SUNDAY - 7th annual Jonathan Krenzer Memorial Car & Motorcycle Show

A revised registration form with complete information on the entire weekend's event is here: http://www.zccr.net/main/Uploaded/2014_ ... on_6.8.pdf

Proceeds fro the event to benefit the Dream Factory. See hotel information in the prior post in this thread. Space is limited for some events such as the Watkins Glen International laps, so sign up NOW! :D

I'm going. Got my hotel reservation. Having trouble printing out the application form because my printer was made during the Stone Age. But I'll be there.

Hi John Taddonio ! Did Mike give you my contact info? I've been contacting him through the ZCCR Facebook page and I/M over there. I'm getting all geared up now for the event, and need to lock down timing for when we can get together? The Tribute car and the Film are ready now, I'm the one in need of a vacation, lol! Shoot me an email at: fomocokid3024@verizon.net and we'll get cell info. Thanks, Dave Levinson

Karl, we expect the drive to Watkins Glen to leave the host hotel about 9am. Arrival at the track approximately 11:30, laps completed by 12:30. Plan on about a leisurely 2 hour drive back to the hotel, so that gives you plenty of time for wine tours (there are TONS of them!), shopping, lunch, antiquing and sightseeing. The banquet at the hotel kicks off at 6pm.

Any CTZCC member who has not yet attended one of these great ZCCR MotorFests needs to put it on their Bucket List. It has grown into sort of a mini-State Fair, with hundreds and hundreds of exciting cars at the show, 50 or 60 Zs running thru the winding rolling central New York wine country roads to be special guests of Watkins Glen International raceway, and some very special original cars like Bob Sharp's #0006 racer, Doc Bork's Finally-Famous #0008 racer, usually Lucky #13, and the famous historic car bookman Walter Miller usually arrives from Syracuse driving something insane.
The food was outstanding and the entrainment was fun. I got to dance with pretty ladies I never met and the whole restaurant occasionally broke into sing-alongs with the entertaining musicians. It really was a blast with a family atmosphere. When your head finally hits the pillow in the hotel at night, you're spent. After a wonderful breakfast the next morning, we were at it again for another event.
The ZCCR has these events organiZed down to a fine science, and everything runs smoothly and safely. Local news reporters wander thru the crowd, speaking with participants, learning what they can. If there was ever anything like a "Z Wedding", this would be exactly how it would look.
I've never spoken with anyone who did not have a wonderful time at a ZCCR 'Fest.
If you've ever been to one, you don't need further encouragement. I know we'll Z you there again.

Frank
