Caffeine & Carburetors is a gathering of automotive enthusiasts. We meet at Zumbach’s Gourmet Coffee in New Canaan, CT 6 times year to enjoy our cars, trucks and motorcycles, and share them with like-minded gear heads, friends and family in and around Connecticut and New York.

We have a tendency to lean toward sports cars, with the occasional Model A or 1920′s Rolls Royce, but our emphasis is on foreign sports cars. We enjoy all vehicles and there are no sponsorships or awards associated with our gatherings.

Doug Zumbach began hosting these gatherings in 1995. Each gathering falls on a Sundays and begins at 8 am. We gather over a cup of coffee, and then enjoy a leisurely drive through the countryside.

Caffeine and Carburetors is a way to indulge the gear head in all of us.

Visit our events page for a listing of our upcoming gatherings.

Graham and I will be at the meet this Sunday. For some reason he loves European high performance cars. He know every make and model. I think from his video games. He better get a well-paying job! Hope to se any of you there.

Well it was many years ago during the spring and summer of 2005 that it all came together. It developed and gained speed and people (like Jim) over a period of many months. Where do you get "2:12 in the morning" from?

Oh, that. I didn't even realize that was there. Probably just a glitch. I'm sure I wasn't up that late!

Thanks for the link. I went to the website and watched a few videos. It looks like a lot of really nice cars. I saw cars you don't see at most car shows. I'm going to make the 2 hour trip with my son Joe and check it out. He's 8 and starting to like cars and hopes to see a Ferrari Italia and some Porsche's.

If newer exotics are what youre after it might be worth it to stop in at Miller Motorcars. Theres one in Greenwich(among many other exotic car dealers) and they just opened a smaller one in Stamford. No idea what it will be like on a Sunday but they were very accommodating to two kids in school uniforms on a school day who definitely dont have enough money to buy a McLaren MP4-12C. Lots of nice cars there but never any Z's!

Thanks for the info Porkbun. We'll see how much he enjoys the car show first and then decide if he's up for more.

At caffeine and carburetors do you just park anywhere? Or will there be a place that z's park together?

Also, do you happen to know if there is a good Mexican restaurant close by? My son's favorite food is Mexican (mine too) and we usually go out on Cinco de Mayo. He has Karate practice on Monday night so were going to go out on Sunday instead after the car show. It should be a fun day.

Sounds like a fun day!

This was just posted on the Facebook Page:
Quote:
I M P O R T A N T T R A F F I C A D V I S O R Y .....

DUE TO THE EXPECTED ADDITIONAL PARKING NEEDS OF ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH ( Communion Sunday) PLEASE ACCESS ELM ST LOCALLY , via RT 123 to RT 106 ( East Ave) EXIT 38 OFF THE MERRITT PARKWAY IF COMING IN FROM OUT OF TOWN. PLEASE AVOID USING MERRITT EXIT 37 (RT 124). It is imperative that we do NOT impede the ability of parishioners to get to church in a timely fashion. IN ADDITION NO SHOW CARS AT ALL ON CHERRY ST. NEAR THE CHURCH..NO SHOW PARKING IN THE CHURCH LOT.

IF YOU ARE COMING DOWN RT 124 FROM POINTS NORTH ( Main St ) DRIVE ALL THE WAY INTO TOWN AND TAKE A RIGHT ON ELM, RT 123 SOUTH BOUND DRIVERS CONTINUE ALL THE WAY TO RT 106 (East Ave) TAKE A RIGHT AND GO UP TO MAIN.

There are posted signs, plus ample CERT volunteers and New Canaan PD to help.

Thank you

Peter Bush

This page has a map showing where the show cars will be parked and spectator parking

I'll be there early. At about 7:30. Who else is going at this point?
