For those of you who may not know, the Limerock Vintage Festival is this weekend. If you are into racing and vintage cars it is well worth the trip.

http://limerockhistorics.com/

I usually go on Saturday- They run two rounds of races each about 15 minutes long so they are quick but entertaining.

http://limerockhistorics.com/Data/entra ... ust_21.pdf

Sunday is the car show- NO Racing on Sunday- Since there is the church across the street Limerock does not race on Sundays.

I am planning on cruising up in the 510 on Saturday as long as I can get the Diff back in there before Saturday, if not I will be going up in the truck.

Didnt see anything on here about it so wanted to make everyone aware. It is usually a very fun day. They have food and beer there- but you can also bring a cooler with your own. Bring some folding chairs or a blanket as there is no official seating. You can walk the entire track and the pits are open to all- including a swap meet over in paddock B so bring some cash... you never know what you will stumble upon.

I've had some great times at LRP during these vintage events. They usually had a car show the day before the races so you could see the cars up close before they got all track-dirty.

I've also met the late-great John Fitch there (RIP), and the Granatelli family, and of course Bob and Carol Sharp are almost always there, and Bob Bondurant and some other racing greats.

And both our Colin Gentiles (elder and younger) are usually there, so it's worth the trip just to zee them again. And our Liam Dwyer and RDZ guys will probably be there, too. (Scotty thinks he wants to sell his pristine 240Z).

Take a camera!!! You might get filmed next to somebody important!

Looks like it's $50 clams for Saturday (or Monday), and $30 for the Sunday car show:
http://tickets.limerock.com/eventperfor ... asp?evt=30

(Friday is $25 and Weekend pass is $150)

Dad and I are still figuring out if we're there camping for the whole weekend or not. We'll be there Saturday regardless.

Great day at Limerock today - Saw Scott from RDZ and his 240z... i believe he sold it today... Talked with Mike from Stonebridge a bunch about 510s- unfortunately he had a transmission issue that knocked him out of the weekend. Helped a nice guy named John or "J" with his 240z - still having some issues with the front end running rich, but always nice to see a Datsun ripping the track. Then bumped into Collin and his Dad at the end of the day and shared a beer with them - Thanks! Fun drive up and home... although it would be nice to have some washer fluid... race car problems.

A bunch of pictures- to many to post so check em out - check out the Toyota 2000GT there were two of them!!! amazing cars - the race car was supposedly VIN # 1

I disagree. You could have taken those pictures with a potato and they still would have been breathtaking. You simply know what cars to shoot, and what parts of them are best.
Really nice work.

Really enjoyed the lightweight Jags, the Minis, and that Ford Falcon Sprite. I had a V8 Futura convertible back in the '60s with a 260V8 in it. Except for the horrible front suspension geometry, they were terribly fast cars.

Graham and I took the Black Pearl and had a good time despite the on and off drizzle. When our legs gave out, we got a nice free tour of the track on the courtesy shuttle golf cart.

I got bombarded by nearly two hours of slow-moving, continuous lightning-strike storms from 0630-0815, and was convinced this would be cancelled. It rained so hard here I couldn't see my neighbor's house across the road.

Congratulations to Scott Cole for the "Best Z" at the Lime Rock Historics, "Sunday in the Park" Concours.
Great day, with an incredible field of cars that stretched around the track. The whole weekend has been pretty spectacular with more racing today.
Hmmm might need some excellent car control today if the weather reports are true. Yes Frank, Colin and I went through that storm in the tent, about a half an hour in we bailed out and dived into the Z for lightning protection, very intense, very little sleep that night. Some photos of the cars parked in Big Bend, Ross and Graham on a golf cart mission for ice cream and drinks!
Colin
