May or may not make it out today- well see how I feel after work-

Left the 510 at home because of the threat of rain and some odd transmission noises... almost sounds like there is a piece of metal at the bottom of the tranny that get kicked up and around during shifts... only happens durring shifts though... no clue what it is - just replaced the gear oil with redline mt-90.

I'll be there tonight rain or shine. Come-on all you guys with broken cars! The repairs can wait - spending time with good friends is the best part of life. Drive another car!

To go or not to go... that is the question.

Of course on my week off, I go out to wash the Z today for my first meeting this year, and the heavens open up on me :x

Waiting a few minutes for the skies to clear and praying for decent weather.

I'm tired of waiting for good weather to meet up with my Z-friends.

Keep in mind we've had meetings in the past where the forecast was far worse than the reality turned out to be (and a couple the other way)...bottom line is: let the weather impact HOW you come, not WHETHER you come....the food, comraderie and fun are guaranteed rain or shine.

You're right Jim. As luck would have it, the Z is now clean and ready to roll.

I anticipate seeing you guys tonight - barring a major hail storm

Another wonderful evening (except for the rush-hour accident on I-84)!

Thank you to Quinn and Bob Bannon and everyone at County Line for welcoming us and treating us so well. Everyone really enjoyed seeing your facilities, looking at the 370's and getting to know you.

And thank you to Justin for a very interesting and informative presentation on autocrossing and to Bill Moreau for detailing all the exciting events that the Z Car Club of New England are planning for ZCON 2013.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who braved the weather to be a part of such a great evening!

- Jim

It was a great time, and very enjoyable environment. Quinn provided us with our own Clubhouse and big-screen for the meeting! And this was the very first time we ever got served ice cream with our food!

THANK YOU, Quinn. That was a really comfortable evening and we actually got to meet some new members and got a live-sighting of Wes Lent in his 2000 Roadster  . We haven't seen him in several years and it was a pleasure talking with him again.

Quinn's 'man cave' had an interesting Datsun timeline boarder around the celling, with old historic Datsun photos. Learned some 'new Datsun history' from that! 8)

It was a good time.

Frank

Thanks to County Line Nissan for hosting our club and providing one of the best meetings rooms we've seen. Also, they raised the bar on food by providing ice cream! Wish I lived closer so that I could have my car serviced there!

Justin,

Thanks for your presentation last evening. I’m one of those guys that is somewhat interested in autocross but have never gotten past the curiosity stage. The way that you laid out everything last night was really great. I think it is safe to say that the audience, on average, was filled with those that have never done this before. Your ability to explain it simply and with visuals was fantastic.

Thanks a ton to Quinn & County Line Nissan for hosting us!!

And thanks to everyone for being a great audience and for the kind feedback! I love the sport and can talk about it for ages, so if anybody wants to chat more please feel free to send me a PM, drop me an email, or find me at future meetings!

That being said, if anyone wants to come out and observe a typical autocross, I will be running at pretty much every FCSCC event this year.

I'm attaching my presentation as a PDF for anybody that couldn't make it or for those who just want to look over them again. :)

P.S. Ross, you should definitely give it a shot! If you liked the go-karts, you'll love autox.

A great meeting of the CTZCC at County Line Nissan in Middlebury. Justin's presentation, the accommodations, and, oh yeah, the ice cream were the best.
