Well, you can plan your life, but you can't always live your plan.

Last minute developments at home cause me not to be able to make this tonight, and it promises to be one of the best meetings of the year.

Zee you guyz next time and I'll watch for pictures/videos of the fun. I'll be thinking of y'all, but family has to come first.

Frank

We missed ya Frank!

What a fantastic & successful event! This should become an annual thing!

Great racing with everyone today... gosh my hands and wrists are tired! Congrats to the karting champs! :D

Sorry if I didn't get to chat with everyone today. I arrived late (whoops)!

Wow what can I say.... I am kind of bummed that I showed up so late. I wasn't able to chat with many or look at the large amount of z cars. I got a late start. Thanks Filipe for waiting up for me. My 260 successfully made the 200 mile round trip. Over 4 hours of driving. 2 of which were after getting my butt kicked in that kart!

When I first started the return trip I thought my car felt a little spongy. Turns out my body was just used to the kart and the crazy handling!

My best lap time was 48.2 seconds. Very happy with that considering how much extra weight I was pushing around the corners. :D

Can't wait to see the pictures!

+1 on the photos!

Does anybody know the rankings for our club if we only take people's times from their 1st heats? I got a 47.987 but only ran a single heat. :D

I have a time sheet from Heat #74 (Heat #3 for us) that I can scan and upload tomorrow at work. Whoever has #72, 73, and 75... post em uppp!

A Karting event has to become an annual thing to do. Being my first time on a Kart, I was a bit tentative in the beginning but finally broke the one minute mark on the last lap. Would I do it again? You betchum Red Ryder!

Prez Jim Hagani has all of the tally sheets and will be scanning/uploading them.

It was a great turn-out last night and wonderful to see so many faces.

Long live the CTZCC!

PS - Next year, I'll get a bigger trophy!

^+1

Great, because I forgot the sheet at home! I too had a great time; unfortunately, I had to leave a bit earlier than I was hoping...but hey, some fun time is better than no fun time!

I had high expectations for last night's meeting but it turned out even better than I had imagined!

PERFECT weather, at least 45 Z's (young and old), close to sixty members (some taking the trip from MA or NY) more than half of whom enjoyed the thrill of carting, Bob Sharp & RDZ, John & Bill from ZCCNE, nice facility...all in all, not just a great meeting, but a truly great event. Thanks again to Ross for putting this together for us.

So, any suggestions what we should do for our July 10th meeting? There's a skydiving place not too far away...

For anyone who is interested in seeing the complete set of results from last night's heats, please see the attached .PDF file.

- Jim

Thanks Jim!

So is Hollywood one of our members or not?

Interesting results... I think next year we should count fastest lap from every driver's 1st heat, and any additional heats they want to take will be "for fun". People that were able to drive 2 heats kinda get twice the time to figure out the kart and track. Notice top 3 drivers had 2 heats. Rabbit GTI turned the best top time for his first heat, followed by Hollywood (if he was one of ours), then SeventyZ, then myself. Hmm!

Once again thank you Ross for a brilliant meeting idea! Lookin' forward to next year's!!

Did anybody else feel their kart "side hopping"? On one of the right handers my kart felt like it was jumping. I've felt this before while autocrossing a few times. I tried to correct it with various driving styles, but I don't think I ever got a good technique down. Anybody know what I might have been doing wrong? I saw at least one other kart in my heat that was hopping around some of the corners too. Maybe we were exceeding the lateral grip of the tires, but the weight wasn't in the right place to cause over/under steer?
