First time in Brookfield, first time karting, and first time meeting most of you! If I can get my timing back in check (really hoping its just the timing) I should be heading up with Zorro :P

I really want to make this meeting!!! I just started a temporary landscaping job and I'm usually exhausted from working, but I'm going to try and make this.

Hope to see everyone there!

For a variety of reasons, we're going to change how the trophy will be awarded.

We're going to give the trophy to the driver with the LOWEST SINGLE LAP TIME.

As a result, everyone can take it easy on the first few laps to get a feel for the carts without having to be concerned about it ruining their overall time. And if some sap who's never raced anything before (like me) messes up one of your laps, it shouldn't be a big deal - you'll have several other chances to make the winning lap.

Looking fwd to zeeing how we manage to squeeze Patrick into a GoKart. He's probably grown another foot since he left for college.

Maybe we should consider awarding a trophy to the oldest driver who manages to complete a lap at any speed?

I kinda like Frank's idea re: oldest completing a lap. There have to be more than a few, myself included, who have never raced (legally) before. In any case, this should be a great meeting. Hopefully the weather will hold as predicted.
Do bumping car principles apply to karts?

Alan,

There is no intentional contact allowed. And monitors on the track will motion you to move over for faster cars coming up behind you.

At least that's how it is supposed to work.

So, I have one seat open if anyone needs a ride tmrw. Also, if you are running your car a long distance for the first time and would feel better with an escort, make plans to meet me somewhere and I'll follow you in.

Doug and I are meeting at the intersection of Rt34 and I84 exit 11, the commuter lot, at 6:00pm. Anyone driving by, please join in for the short ride to Brookfield. Let us know so we don't leave anyone behind.
