Post subject:  2nd Annual Sullivan Family Memorial Fun Run - May 19th 2013

Hard to believe it has been almost 1 year to the day when we lost Tom Sully and his family. I am proud to say last year the turn out we had for our Sullivan Family Memorial Fun Run was our biggest event to date. Keeping this tradition going, we NYZCC are happy to announce the 2nd Annual Sullivan Family Memorial Fun Run will be held on the same exact date this year May 19th but a Sunday this time for those who could not make it last year.

We have changed up the route once again this year so please take a look here at the map:

The final map and meet times are being worked on by fellow club member Dave Cerutti so when complete they will be posted here and another email sent out. Expect the first meet point to be around 7 - 7:15 am and final stop for lunch around noon!

Come out and start the season off right with your NYZCC family!

This was the event that I probably enjoyed the most last season. After the trauma of learning of this tragedy and the utter sadness of saying goodbye at Tommy's funeral, this run was a celebration to me. A celebration of the impact Tommy had on everyone who knew him.

I hope to participate in this event again and encourage everyone to consider joining in on this fun memorial of a wonderful human being.

I will be heading to the 10am Stamford, CT Stop from Groton, CT.

I will travel:

I-95: Groton - Milford
Merritt Pkwy: Milford to Stamford

If anybody wants to meet up along the way, give me a meeting spot and I'll work out the timing and post the route.

See you on Sunday, Great Ride to remember a Great Guy, Tommy Sullivan with our friends from the NYZCC.

Keith,
I will travel south on the Wilbur Cross and Merritt Parkways and meet up with you at the parkway rest area in Fairfield. Set a meeting time and I will be there. Hopefully there will be more along the way. The North Haven rest area is an option for others joining in. The Orange rest is closed for renovation.

I bailed out after prolonged wait before the Carmel stop for some lost Z32's. It was a rainy day and with a few delays when I decided to head home. I did stop in Bethel, CT to catch up with some friends. It was great to see Clive and the guys from NY and NJ. I hope lunch was good.

Had my Sullivan T-Shirt on and SULLYZ plate in my back window.

Here are a few photos I took.

Alan, thanks for the cup of coffee in Fairfield.

It's somehow appropriate that it should rain for such an occasion. Missing loved ones should be a 'rainy' affair, for some reason. It fits the mood.
Tried to get back into the country in time to participate in this, but missed it by a day.
Next year.
