Thanks for coming, Adam, I'm glad you were able to share the evening with us and give us the chance to get to know you in person!

Glad to hear the drive home was safe and uneventful.

Thanks again for the lovely glass etching...it was really nice of you to get involved with it, especially given that you had never even met any of us!

See you next time!

- Jim

This was a great time, and I had a lot of fun. It was best meeting new faces who we've been communicating with here on the website. Everyone looked like they had a good time and nobody looked bored. We got to see some great new Zs, too! It was personally rewarding to zee Irv Rich arrive, driving his 300ZX Twin Turbo. Way to go, Irv! OooRah!

I lost count but estimate about 40 members present. The piZZa was late but worth the wait, and Ross' Commemorative Cake was a delicious desert. The rain kept some of the Zs home, but we still got about a doZen of them after the weather cleared.

Don Mei gave an interesting (and funny!) presentation about racing gear, PreZident Jim made an appropriate and touching presentation about PreZident Ross and gave him our gifts; a framed photo of the membership gathered on his (Ross') front yard for the annual picnic, and a Lexan desk weight engraved with our personal sentiments about Ross' contributions to the Z owners of Connecticut. The framed photo bore the signatures and comments of many members.

John "Bad Dog" Jeffries gave us an update on the most recent developments of the upcoming ZCon. We are all looking fwd to this event in August and a full turnout is expected.

We paused a moment to remember Colin Foote's fatal crash, the Sullivan family's fatal fire, and Liam Dwyer's Afghanistan IED, the anniversary dates of which are all this month. These are members we will never forget about and miss frequently. We are thankful Liam is back racing again and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

I took a few photos and will post them up here soon.

Frank T

Oh and frank. The desk weight is not a piece of lexan but a piece of N-BK7 borosilicate optical glass! :D

Yeah, what he said.....

and he should know, because he made it for us, and that was one heck of an introduction to a new Club! Way to walk thru the door, Adam ~ you really know how to make a good impression on the very first try! You nailed it, guy.

I'd like to echo everyone's sentiments about last night's meeting.

As usual, Scott Orsini and the wonderful people at Executive Nissan welcomed us with open arms and treated us like family. Thank you again to everyone there, especially Rick Marino, who stayed extra late for us and patiently waited for the meeting to end.

I'd also like to thank Don Mei for a very interesting presentation on helmets and safety gear. At an upcoming meeting, we'll have Don finish up by talking about (and showing video clips from) some of the highlights of his decades of vintage racing.

Last night's meeting brought out some new faces, some others we hadn't yet seen this season, plus many of our "regulars". I've got to say that everyone is so extremely friendly and supportive, it is not only my honor to preside over this club, it truly is my pleasure as well.

I'm already looking forward to our next meeting on June 12 (location TBA shortly). After two somewhat rainy meetings, the odds are in our favor for a beautiful, sunny day for the next one!

- Jim

Great job, PreZident Jim. Thanks to you, and to all the Club Officers who coordinated this meeting and made us all comfortable. It only whets our appetites for more.
