In addition to a few other "surprises", the meeting will also feature a brief presentation on vintage racing by our own club Motorsports Co-Director Don Mei.

As you probably know, for years Don has been traveling throughout the U.S. to participate in vintage racing, so expect lots of info and stories.

See you THIS WEDNESDAY!

- Jim

So it looks as though I will be making it to this meeting. My boss told me it was OK for me to work fist shift on Wednesday. Now here is my question....I will be coming from the Worcester, MA area and I will be traveling down 84 to 91. Is anybody I can meet with along that route? Like I have said before i haven't driven this car that far yet so would love to be with others if something happens.

Uh oh, guyZ. Last minute car problems... I probably won't be able to make it :(

Is anyone driving a truck to this meeting?

Many of us. Don't stay home just because your Z does. Most of us have shown up in DD crates many times. The important thing is, we show up.

Truck comment was referring to the fact that I need a short tow...

...but Devon has graciously helped me out! He took a 1 hr trip just to help me get my Z back to its home. HUGE thanks. Unfortunately my DD is a pair of tennis shoes...

Also huge thanks to Jim for offering me a lift to the meeting! I'm going to work on the Z tonight (hopefully not all of it) to see if I can roll up on my own power.

Ok looks as though I will be going at this ride alone. Anybody that will be going want to PM me their phone number in case something happens along the way. It will be 1 1/2 hour ride. I am leaving at 5 pm. I have no clue what the traffic will be like so I will keep my fingers crossed.

Adam, why don't I come up North and meet you somewhere on I-91? I'll not be in the Z but at least I can fly escort for you?

My guess is that it may slow a bit coming south on I91 through Hartford at that hour, but I think the evening rush out of Hartford is worse going North, plus it should be easing by the time you get there (around 6pm).

Of course, you could always drive the family car. In fact, you could bring the family. 90 miles (or whatever it is for you) is a lengthy shake-down cruise for a new Z. We'd love to zee it, but you're aways safer taking increasingly longer cruises away from your house until you're confident nothing will fall off in-flight. My first shakedown cruise was from CT to Rochester NY and back, with a few laps around Watkins Glen International Raceway on the way home. Not smart, but nothing bad happened.

There will be plenty of future meetings when you're more sure of your Z, if you didn't want to risk it tonight. Remember, you'll be driving home in the dark. I can escort you back North into the Hartford region, but you're solo from there on.

Frank

I am set. I will be taking the Z. I need to get these nerves out anyways. I am all signed up for ZCON so the car has to be ready.

Planning on being there tonight- unfortunately the rain foiled my attempts to drive the 510.... something about balding race tires that are bit wider and no weight over the back end sounded kinda sketchy to me... the trunk leaks like sive as well - hopefully the weather will cooperate next time

That's the spirit!

I've said it before - and given today's weather I'll say it again: these monthly club meetings are about getting together to hang out, talk, share ideas and questions, eat, socialize, etc.

Even if the rain, a car issue, or anything else keeps you from driving your baby to the meeting, you're still going to have a great evening!

See you all later tonight,

- Jim

Never looked at the weather. didn't realize it was going to rain. Just might have to bring the DD tonight.

Frank don't worry about meeting me at 91. I will see you there.
