Just got back, and still trying to take all this excitement in. :D We got to say bye to Mr.Matsuo just before we left, and he walked over to my wife and tucked in her hand a Z button. Just was a special moment. 8) I told her she is now initiated into the Z world, and there is no getting out now. She is happy with that. :D Had a great time for sure, a lot of very special moments going on for everyone. Great to see everyone there. Congratulations to all our trophy winners, and the other clubs as well. :D Track day was an awesome experience, will defiantly do that again. The dinner afterwards the awards dinner, the whole thing. :D great pics and vids guys. I'll posts some later. btw, the preview for next year's show looked awesome. We might go, but by plane....I'd rather spend that extra 8 days out there. I heard there is a place we can rent a 350z. So Start Planning. Z

Was waiting outside the hotel on a bench when Mr. Matsuo walked over and joined me. Gave me the opportunity to ask him a burning question of mine: what happened to all of the clay models and prototypes of the early Z?

DESTROYED!

Oh boy, but I guess it makes sense. These things probably accumulate like rabbits and take up valuable warehouse space. Plus no one could have known in the late sixties that the car would go on to become the icon and success that it did.

So then I took the opportunity to give him a Z Spotting Car and tell him about our club. If it weren't for this one man, none of us would probably know each other! Hearing him describe the birth of the 240Z was worth driving back up there on Friday!

What an experience Ross, glad you got a picture to record the moment! Just think, someday Graham will be telling his grandkids that his dad shared a bench with the designer of the Z!

Alright, so someday Graham will be telling his grandkids that he took a picture of his dad sharing a bench with the designer of the Z!

["Had a great time for sure, a lot of very special moments going on for everyone"].

Nobody could have said it better, Paul. That just about sums up the whole experience. Any direction we looked, something special was happening to someone.

Well said.

So I am sure everyone remembers this car right?

Image

Well I was just talking with the owner on the hybridz.org chat room and the had a slight problem on the way home from the convention. The anchor point in his trailer broke and the car slammed front and back in the trailer. He is saying that there is about $4-$5k in damage.

Was a great time seeing a lot of the CTZCC members and others I have not seen since the 2008 Convention. It was a great 3 days up there and the car show was very nice. My fav part of course was the track day!

 Yes I remember that car Adam. Had the cut out in the back to see the Arizona Z mustache bar. I'm just putting some pics together, the wife to more than I...............I was spinning in Z's and in Awe, so wasn't thinking pictures. Yea, Clive track day was awesome. It was cool to see the Evil in action, was a great time. My only dilemma was I wasted my 3.9 rear end, but I knew to quit in time so I did make it home OK. So now I need to find an R-200, even if it's 3.5, until I figure the 3.9 out. I hope it's just bearings, and not the gears.

I posted this picture on Facebook Z page to see if anybody could recognize the wheels. The owner eventually pointed out that it is a great photo and would like *if possible* to get the full shot, not just the screen shot I took. I've been through everyone's album; can't find it. Does anybody remember taking this?
