Some quick notes about this ~

1. If anyone is still looking for a room at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at the group rate of $109, I must cancel Thor's reservation this week, which *should* open a single room at the cheaper rate (?). If you're interested in taking his room at the early registration rate, let me know. I can possibly transfer your name onto his room, since I reserved it under my credit card. Not guaranteeing this is possible, but it should be. I have to cancel his reservation either way, and it should be simple for me to just transfer his room to your name.

2. For anyone who hasn't visited the ZCon website recently, DO IT !! :D They have installed a 1-minute teaser strip from the Bob Sharp film which is well worth watching, and I HIGHLY recommend you spend a minute for the thrill. The film is called, "Some People Collect Stamps".

The Pace Car is a civilian 240Z (one of the very first ones). Bob Tullius is seen chasing Bob in his #44 Triumph TR4, as are some very fast Cobras and Corvettes. Tullius became Sharp's arch-rival when Triumph later provided his Group 44 Racing with a highly reworked TR6.

Bob's red C/Production #33 240Z (HLS30-00006, today owned by CTZCC and ZCCR member Dr. Robbins of Rochester NY) is shown blasting away from A/Production 427 Cobras and 427 Corvettes at the drop of the flag. Bob's 240Z takes the lead into the first turn. Thrilling to watch, and we know he usually held the lead all the way to the checkered flag.

To find your way to the film, go to www.zcca.org , which takes you to the homepage of the ZCCA website. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and click on the link for ZCon 2013. That homepage has the 60 second clip.

An absolute thrill for anyone, whether they were around during the 1970 racing Zeason or not. Pure 240Z history, and solid evidence about why these carz became the top-selling Sports/GT carz in automotive history.

Today this very car is in the CTZCC stables, and the driver, Bob Sharp, is our Executive Advisor.

FT

I believe there is but no one has made any specific plans. I would like to drive up together. I am coming from Central MA.

It's a two hour drive from Hartford to Nashua if we took the following route:

84E in CT to
90 E in MA to
495N in MA to
3N in NH

that route takes us thru or near:

Hartford,
Southbridge,
Auburn,
Framingham,
Westford,
Lowell, and
into Nashua.

We could make stops along the way to pick up locals, OR we could take an alternate route to reach more people.

Members from local corners of CT could gather together and form small bands to meet up in Hartford, where we could all leave together.

OR, we could use some other CT town as a gathering place. somewhere closer to the center of the state (like Middletown) and start gathering there.

Let's hear some thoughts and suggestions. Time to get this loosely organized.

Frank

I believe I only have the hotel room for mon and tues night so I will be driving up Monday morning. I hope I won't be missing the convoy.

I am very close to Auburn, MA as well as Southbridge, MA. If a stop can be made there that would be great. Actually there is an exit off the Mass Pike in Sturbridge, that can work also. Just give me a time.

We are not listed because to be a ZCCA member club we must charge dues. In my humble opinion it's an antiquated policy, which excludes one of the strongest and most active Z clubs in the nation (us). During my seven years as President, I never even heard from the ZCCA.

So no discount Mike - sorry.

Wow I am jealous. Anyway I can get a hat like that. I love fitted hats! I don't have any club apparel yet.

i will see how much to have some made for whoever is interested. i know Keith could use some help. the logo isn't perfect but came out pretty good. if the digitizing was better it would look even better. i like it though. the hats are a nice quality. they are flex fit hats.
