This was a fun time tonight! Thanks to Bryan Little for coordinating this and making everyone comfortable. The weather was nearly perfect and we had a large PRIVATE LOT with a security officer on duty to guard the Zs ( :shock).
I stopped counting Zs when the 27th one pulled in, which gave us 34 members and guests, AND we got to meet some new members tonight!

It's usually a 'slow' month when August rolls around, because of summer vacations. But tonight's meeting didn't reflect that very much. We got to Zee many old friends and meet some new ones. Ross, Jim and Phil were all on vacation with their families, but Mssrs Little, Emmons and Hultmark held the fort down quite well together. I failed to take a single picture all night.

As usual when we meet at EXECUTIVE, they fed us with about 14 different types of hot piZZa and 5 different sodas tonight. Our Member-in-Residence (Pete from the Executive Parts Dept) greeted us and demonstrated how the Executive Nissan internet partz Microfische works for our Club. We can view exploded parts lists for our Z cars right from home, then call Pete with the part numbers we need. THEN, Peter gave away some nifty NISSAN goodies in a free raffle :D . Ya' gotta love that place!

Greg Emmons gave his report about Upcoming Events and we had some lively discussion about some get togethers, past and future. Don Mei gave a report and slideshow about his recent excursion to the Pittsburgh Grand Prix in his Z racer (lots of excitement and laughs about that), and Bryan Little showed an excellent Show & Tell slideshow about how he singlehandedly pulled apart his BW T-5 gearbox last winter and actually made it work better! No casualties, no spare parts, no instructions, no kidding! From the number of technical questions from the membership after his presentation, it was clear there were some members very interested in doing this to their own carz. I guess we can expect more reports of this in the future!

Here's a You Tube video of Don racing in the city streets winding thru Pittsburgh's Schenley Park on 22July. His blue #51 240z runs past @0:27 seconds:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQtacG72 ... =fvwp&NR=1
Don says he held off that pesky title Porsche 914 until the final lap, when he accidentally hit his safety harness release and found himself completely unstrapped at speed! That dastardly little Porsche took advantage of that and flew past him the instant he lifted his foot.

The usual after-meeting clusters in the parking lot lasted until about 10PM because there were no mosquitoes to chase us away. It was good to zee our family together again, munch some very interesting piZZa and scope out two new Z cars (a 260 2+2 and a 280 which might be for sale).

Always makes us look forward to the next meeting.

Ross, Phil, Jimmy ~ you were missed, but we understand!

Frank

Nice work, Keith. You're not Phil, but those are still 100% better than the ones I took.

Nice work Keith, you're hired!!

Looks like I missed a great meeting! Bryan, I'm sorry to have missed your tranny rebuild discussion. My transmission could use a little tender care....

It was a great meeting. I did miss you Phil. After about 20 minutes I remembered I needed to take pictures.

Also missed Ross and Jim and whatever members we usually see in North Haven. It was great to welcome back Big Al and Renee.
