The ice cream run sounds like fun. Are there any 'specific' times? We may have the grandkids in the evening so the cruise part may not work for me. I would take the secondary roads in but probably more highway on the way home.

I was thinking around 3 for icecream. The place is Riverfront miniature golf and ice cream .... 218 River Road, Unionville
How 'bout we firm thiings up in the morning. maybe we could meet up on Farmington Ave. in Hartford by the Mark Twain House around 2:30 then we
could run all the way out farmington ave (rte. 4) to river road.

John,
I will catch up with you for ice cream at 3:00. I will come up route 10 through Farmington to Rt 4. I believe Unionville is NW from the intersection of 10 an 4. I will most likely pass on the mini golf. Played yesterday in the heat and barely beat our 7 yr old grandaughter by 2 strokes. If she concentrates, she can beat me. For sure!
I have to be back home by dinner time. The kids are with us tonight.

Post subject:  Ice Cream run.

Alan / Jules
enjoyed the ice cream visit.
Jules, never did find the Bristol Auto Club event.
They said it had been moved west on Rt. 6 but we
went exploring and found nothing. Oh well, nice ride
anyway. That's a great color on your Z, like it a lot.

I decided that the antifreeze was just from release of
an over fill situation and with no overflow tank it just
dumps to the ground. So I decided to take the rt. 6
run. Car ran cooler on way home and I think there is
still a little too much coolant in there. I'll just watch it
for awhile.

Jack, Alan,
Great meeting you guys, thanks for a great run up even if we did miss the car show. Funny thing though, I turned into the Wendy's and saw what looked like a 66 mustang and I would say a 50s ford but that was it, it's like nobody wanted to show ! Anyhow a great drive nonetheless, Jack your Z is awesome and am glad it's ok, Alan your Z brings back memories of my 350, what a great car !!

See u guys in north haven !!

Hopefully there is some interest in this event. The original posting kinda got lost in a very pleasant run for ice cream in Unionville.
It sure would be great to have a super showing of Zs at this local event.

Only one Z entered, mine, among so many antiques and muscle cars. A successful show with cars lined up for 3 blocks. One brilliant red GTR arrived late. I did have the opportunity to distribute a few "spotted" cards to folks who own Z's.

We live in the Village of South Meriden and all the money collected goes to support local events such as American flags along Main St and Christmas in the Village.

See all in Darien!

Jack,
Police estimates are 200+ cars entered. Everything from a '43 Willys jeep with 30 cal mounted, fully restored '28 Ford, '37 Caddy convertible, Many many hot rods (some magnificent), and one '10 red GTR. For most of the day it was super. One 15 min light shower made all the tops go up. The chamois' went to work and the tops came down again.
It was festive. They will do it again next year.
