Last vintage race of the year in Connecticut is coming up. Friday/Saturday October 14, 15 at Lime Rock. I'm entered and plan on running the 240. Im looking forward to it as its been 4 years or so since I've done any racing. It's at Vinnies getting prepped. Hate to miss the year end meeting though.

This is with VSCCA, no? Are they finally letting post-1959 cars run? If so, it's about time. And if so, maybe it's time to throw a roll cage in my 240z and go racing....hmmm....

I think Dad (tr3hardtop) is going up there on Friday. This is usually an annual Saturday event for Dad and I, but this whole Fall Shindig at Ross' house is getting in the way

Good luck!

They (VSCCA)will approve post 59 cars on a car by car basis. I sent the race chairman some pictures of the 240 and he oked it. Hell I fought them for years on getting my 58 Corvette approved. The formation of VRG finally made them wake up and realize there was merit in listening to the membership. There is a VRG event at Watkins Glen the same weekend and quite frankly I would rather go there, but I havent raced at the Glen since the late sixties and since this is my first time out in the car, I would just as soon stay closer to home. Wish me luck; Im really looking forward to it. I just hope I haven't forgotten how to get around a track.

Some guys have all the fun! Below some photos from Friday at the VSSCA Fall Finale at Lime Rock. Don was back in his new racecar after a few years away from the cockpit, Vinny Bedini was crew chief for the weekend. Don looked fast and smooth. Vinny had the Z dialed in, wow did it sound awesome. Don was smiling from ear to ear after every outing on the track, great day.

Thanks so much Colin! Its the absolute most fun you can have with your clothes on! The car ran like a clock, thanks to Vinnie. Its definitely faster than I am...but I'll catch up.

Now the bug has bitten deeply and its time for some serious get in shape conditioning over the winter and a few days at drivers school and/or with Bruce McGinnis in the spring.
