There is a shopping center on the north west corner of Hemingway Ave and Main street, Trolley Square, 332 Hemingway Ave. Between 8:00 and 8:30. The show is a few blocks from there. The weather looks like it will co-operate.

Unless you object, I'd prefer to meet at Twin Pines Restaurant, 34 Main St, East Haven (at the intersection of Main and Saltonstall). It's easy to find, has coffee, and is easily accessible from either roadway.

It has a fat parkinglot for Zs behind the restaurant.

It's just a 1/2 mile farther away from your shopping center, but we'd find each other easier ~ little damage for bigger gain. OK?

Frank

For any of you who are not going to Carlisle PA and still want a local place to go, please consider this local car show at the East Haven Trolly Museum. $10 entry fee for each car.

Mike Rosann and I will meet at the Twin Pines Restaurant, 34 Main Street East Haven (across the road from Lake Saltonstall, at the bottom of Branford Hill) btwn 0800-0830. Anyone interested in parking with us is welcome to join us. Twin Pines Restaurant is at the intersection of Main Street and Saltonstall Avenue in E.Hvn.

You can come join us at the Trolley Museum at any later time, if you have early morning obligations.
The actual car show address is:

17 River Street, E.Haven (Trolley Museum).

Weather is expected to be excellent all day, with showers in the late afternoon.

Frank

We have discussed maybe doing both, actually. I'd enjoy seeing the trolleys (driven past the place 1,000 times, never stopped in) and the cars which appear there tmrw. It's for a good cause, and might keep the trolleys working a few more summers. I get to ride one and that's cool too.

They have to know they're competing against a bigger show at Sikorski, so they'll be happy to get what cars they can. The town of East Haven has several active car clubs, so I expect to see some interesting machinery. Then we might (might) decide to drive down to B'port and scope out what's there, altho I doubt I'll show my Z there.

Mostly an excuse for a relaxed, fun day, and a chance to schmooZe with Mike without the distractions of a monthly meeting or full-blown CTZCC event. We hope to zee some other Clubbies if possible, but if not, we're cool with that. We can represent the Club ourselves and observe how other clubs present an event. Might even learn something, if I keep my mouth shut.

Frank

Well I had a very good time with this today. Thanks Mike, for suggesting it. The weather was very nice, there were about 3 dozen cars of all varieties, and we got a nice long ride on a trolley. There was some good Rock n Roll, cheeze dogs, cheeze burgers, egg sandwiches, soda, model cars for sale, and everyone was friendly. I bought 5 raffle tickets and two of them won ( :D ) so I actually got back the $10 I spent to enter.

Many people commented on the Zs and asked questions. One couple pulled in later with a 1600 Datsun Roadster and we gabbed with him a lot. The best reward for me was the chance to just sit and talk with Mike Rosann for a few hours, without the pressure of any Club obligations tearing me away. Pictures later tonight.

Frank

A day out with Frank is always entertaining. He forgot more about American Hot Rod iron than I’ll ever know. I hope we will see more of the other Z club guys at the next show.
