Hey All! Here is the latest from ZCCR:

* This coming weekend is the opening of Watkins Glen International! On SUNDAY APRIL 17, ZCCR will be making our annual trek to the historic race track to take three laps. Meet up with other Z enthusiasts as well as cool rides from all over the region. For those of you who have never done Opening Day before, cost is $25 per car for three "paced" laps on the race track. Pay at the track when staging. Helmets are not required, but make sure your car is in good working order and that your seat belts indeed belt you in. After the track we will stop in the Village of Watkins Glen for lunch. There will be plenty of time for wineries and antiquing on the way home.

THE DETAILS: Meet 8:30am at the Bushnell's Basin Park & Ride lot on Rt. 96 at the Rt 490 Bushnell's Basin exit. There are a couple of bagel/donut/coffee shops just up the road if you want to have a little something beforehand. Plan on departure between 8:30-8:45am. The ride to the Glen is not a race, but will be fun on some twisty roads. It should take about 2 hours to get to the track. Once at the track, the WGI staff will stage us in the garage area, collect your $25 and have you sign a waiver. We will then head out onto the track as a group. After the laps, we will stop in the village for lunch, shopping, etc.

It's a Rite of Spring! Z you there!

* A group of ZCCR ZcarnutZ are again headed south on May 20-21 to participate in the Carlisle Import & Kit Car Nationals at the fairgrounds in Carlisle, PA. Held within the Carlisle event is the East Coast Z Nationals, a Z specific event put together by 5 northeast regional Z clubs which features dozens of Z-Cars of every generation. ZCCR has reserved three suites at the Staybridge Suites in nearby Harrisburg, PA with individual beds for NINE participants. SIX spots are already spoken for, so if you are interested in joining in on the trip, please let me know quickly! Hotel costs will be approximately $110 each for the weekend. Food, fuel, car show admission and misc. would also be your responsibility. Please note that in fairness to all, once you commit to the hotel you are responsible for the cost whether you make the trip or not, unless someone can take your place.

Pre-registration for the Carlisle event is available at their website: http://store.carlisleevents.com/SearchR ... asp?Cat=23

Cost to have your car on the showfield is $30 for the weekend, BUT IF YOU PRE-REGISTER ONLINE PRIOR TO APRIL 18, COST IS ONLY $20!

The plan is to depart the Rochester area early (VERY EARLY) Friday morning May 20. Our route will take us through Watkins Glen, on to the Elmira area and into Pennsylvania. We expect to reach Carlisle in early afternoon and spend the rest of the day checking out the event. Saturday will have us at the car show all day, that evening will be dinner on the town. Sunday morning we will depart for home.

ROAD TRIP! Are you game?

Much MORE coming, but that's it for now!

peaze,

I will be an hour away, so unless it's pouring rain, I should be there.
