Sounds like something Kathy and I would like to take in, but there
is absolutely no way I will pull a 24-foot trailer through Boston.

As many times as I have ever been to Boston, I have gotten lost at
least once on every one of those times. And that was just with a car,
not a truck pulling a trailer.

I can only imagine the fun it would be to try to negotiate through
those narrow streets, and even more so to try to perform U-turns and
such. Almost as much fun as calculating the insurance claims.........

When are you going to drive the car Rick?
Or is it not a 100% road worthy yet.

Oh, Lucky 13 is driveable, Scott! But with our medical bills due to
Kathy's strokes and all, I am trying to economize wherever I can,
to enable our keeping the collection of cars. Then there is my
paranoia of subjecting her (the car, not Kathy) to the crazies
that I see on the road all the time. Even the Hagerty people think
that the enclosed trailer is a wonderful thing, probably because it
minimizes the possibility of a claim!

In truth, there are a couple of electrical issues I want to get resolved.
Also, I would like to pull the gas tank to give it a good cleaning out
and sealing. There is a little grumble from the rear end that I don't
like (don't take that the wrong way!). You know, little annoying stuff.

Even when everything is where I want it, and I finally bring myself to
actually registering and driving one car or another to our meetings
and events, it will still be short hops only. I suppose from our house,
a 60 road-mile radius would be our maximum, but that would cover
maybe 90% of the state. About the size of a Texas county.

The big exception will always be the #171 car. We bought it in Aug
1973 from the original owner with 23000 miles on it, and it still has
only 28700 miles on it to this day. Maybe not as few miles as Mark
Lambert's 4400-mile 1972, but still MUCH less than most. That car
will be driven around the block maybe once a month and only on nice
sunny days. For that little use I will probably bootleg the plates
off one of the other cars.

Hi Rick,
Towing a trailer through Boston could be ugly..
I would suggest contacting the organizers If you plan to attend.(yuppieracing.net)
Trailer parking could be minimal at best.

I'll catch you there. Being on the other side of the state makes meeting up a challenge. Weather permitting of course !

Haha, I'm still working that out, Mike! What route do you plan to take? I-84 to I-90?

On I-90 eastbound, there's a rest area in Natick, that's about 20-30 minutes away. If we aim to be there at 6:30, we'll make it to the show right on time. Means I'd have to leave Groton at about 5:00AM, and you'd have to leave Fairfield at about 4:00 AM.

Since you're talking about 3:30, maybe you were just planning to go up I-95? In which case, I'll just give you my address and you can come wake me up, because I'm right off the highway.

Heh, you replied while I was doing road-math.

Natick rest stop on I-90E sound good? Google Maps says it's 22 minutes from the Larz Anderson museum.

Don't have a real address. It's right after exit 13.
