Great pictures Phil (as always). I can hear the Porsches screaming for mercy from here!

I notice none of the S30 carz have their hoods popped open..... :?

Dave, I haven't had a chance to review the pictures I took yesterday, but I know that I explicitly decided not to record a fellow Z brother's bad luck.... Other then I wanted to get a photo of you in your car.

I don't consider it bad luck, I consider it "anticipated failure in the correct manner". A sort of R&D for myself. I knew I was pushing it hard, and that it might very well break. I had the discussion with Scott Cole a week before, about the failure and the rebuild plan. I was only disappointed that I didn't get to cruise home in the Z. I have never built a Z motor but I have been dreaming about it for 25 years. Unfortunately, it comes at a time when cash flow is not optimal. However, I have amassed a sizable cache of Z parts, and good friends with Z parts. The resources are more than adequate to help me quickly build a solid motor, stronger than the one I blew up. I am in it for the learning and R&D as much as the driving. Thats just my nature.

The cars suspension felt well sorted. The 240Z steering rack felt great in the 280. The AZC Willwood brakes were capable of out braking many of the Porsches. The motor is easy to fix. My only gripe was that the tail of the car wagged a little under extreme braking. I didn't have time to play with brake pressure balances. I may need to add some rear toe-in.

It was great to see you, and the photos are phenomenal!

Hey Phil that camera of yours must be magical cause every time you take a pic of my Z it looks great. even when the Z was all mismatched you somehow made it look great in a picture. my Z has a ton of flaws but your camera seems to hide them. thanks! :D
