Just returned from this exciting meeting! 55 people and 37 Z cars descended upon RDZ in Danbury for an exclusive tour of their sensational new facility, hot chow, and our first-ever October monthly meeting!

The new RDZ works are wonderful, and made me wish I could spend my days just hanging out there. Exotic cars filled the bays, and we were greeted outside by a Ferrari which was waiting its turn in a bay (after the Aston Martin and Z cars were done).

Bob Sharp autographed car parts, everyone explored the building and pigged out on hot catered dinner. We held a 30 minute meeting and schmooZed some more.

We were pleaZed to meet some members who couldn't attend meetings earlier this year, and we drew some solid attendance from our members who live in NY state. (RDZ might be a really good place to hold some meetings next year!)

In spite of the fun and excitement, I was haunted by the thought that tonight's meeting will be the final time we get to zee these carz together until next spring.

Thank you to all the members of RDZ for supporting this Club throughout the year, and for opening your spacious new facility to us for this meeting!

Really impressive, guyz ~ a class act!

File comment: The RDZ facility is pristine and orderly. Plenty of room to work on about 10 carz at once, or to hold a very comfortable monthly meeting!

Hi Bill ~ their engine hoists can actually roll along any of those overhead beams and raise engines, cars, or frames as high as needed.

I was impressed by the cleanliness. This was a WORKING shop, and several cars were in-progress. Yet everything remained spotless, and all the tools were where they belonged (well, that's how it looked to me, anyway). In the adjoining two rooms of the bldg were wall-to-wall bays of just-painted cars, drying. I didn't get to see their body and paint shop, but it must have been pretty busy. One girl had just painted her car Metalflake WHITE  (something I've never seen before) and was waiting for it to dry enough to remove the masking. It reminded me of Tapioca pudding, somehow!

About the only thing I would add to this incredible new toystore would be a few dozen more ABC fire extinguishers, but that's just the worry-wart I am.

Above the big room where we ate and held our meeting was a full-length, two-room lounge and computeriZed business office, decorated wall to wall with Z and NISMO racing posters, photographs and artwork. That's not even mentioning the 62" flatscreen TV in the lounge!

I've always dreamed of having a place like this for my own. I would lock everybody out, play with the tools and build George Barris - type Zs and never come out except on testdrives.

Huge thanks to Scott, Rich, Steve and the rest of the crew at RDZ for hosting such a great event last night!

You guys have a great facility and staff and although I don't wish car issues on anyone, it is very reassuring to krow that you guys are right here in our neighborhood and fully qualified to handle almost anything our Z's might need.

Thanks again,

Jim

I would like to echo Frank and Jim's comments. Thank you RDZ for a very enjoyable evening. I too feel that I would be compelled to "hang out" in the shop during my free time if only they were closer to home!

Great facility, great folks and great cars! What a CTZCC event is all about.

Congrats to Rich, Scott and Steve! May your bays remain full of exotic carZ!

After encountering 3 "crawl-along-in-lst-or-2nd-gear-and-sometimes-not-
even-that" traffic snarls enroute, we finally reached Exit 8. Whereupon
our silky-voiced-Southern-belle GPS led us on a fantastic rallye route
which I wish I had taken notes in case I am ever designated a rallye
master for such an event. We did arrive on time, not an hour early as
we had hoped. But it was worth it: everything that has been said above
we echo, and say thanks to Rich, Scott, and Steve for their kind
hospitality. But the best thing was schmoozing with our Z friends and
trying to make new friends.

I want to help Bill James, our European brothers, and others at such a
distance that makes it hard for them to see who-all is in the picture:
Left to right:
Black cap and pullover= Keith Hultmark, Events Director
White cap= Jim Hagani, Webmaster
Just above Jim= Rich, one of the owners of RDZ
With Rich, in white shirt & tie= Ross Williams, ZPreZ
Seated, in blue jacket= Kathy Morgan
Behind Kathy, in Texas Rangers cap (Go Rangers!)= Lucky 13's Daddy
Behind Rick, white beard= Mike Engelhardt, currently Z-less after
having owned 20-something of them over the years, including the
prettiest 260-Z I think I have ever seen, now somewhere in Europe

Over to the right side of the room:
Light blue sweater= some obscure guy named Bob Sharp
Behind Bob= Steve, another of the hosts of the event
Behind Steve= all 6'7" of Scott Cole, yet another of the hosts
To our right of Bob= Paul Jensen
In front of door taking photos= Phil Parent, Club Photographer, "just
doing his job"

I'm trying to do this on one of those little portable computers with a
screen about a foot across. So if anyone can see the detail a little
better than I can to identify other attendees, or would like to fill in some
more biography on anyone I could discern, please do so for the edifica-
tion of our distant brothers. No, I should rather say "our brothers at a
distance." I am sure that they are all as extroverted and sociable as all
the other folk who routinely attend our events. And I don't know why I
restricted it to "brothers" since I am always the one who is harping on
getting more ladies involved!

All Z Best,...........................Rick (and Kathy, of course)

Wish I could have been there, but I was particularly upset at one of the authors of the reading for class, and felt that I should pick a fight in class.

Hoping to be there in a month!

Yeah Isaac, there were about a thousand G35 Infinity and Altima guys there too. RDZ has something for everyone.

To say that this was a great meeting would be an understatement. The RDZ guys went all out and were extremely gracious hosts. If I only lived closer, I would be a regular fixture inside their upstairs waiting area (aka the "Clubhouse").

Thanks Rich, Scott and Steve!

Been working around the clock, sorry for the slow turn around on posting the meeting pictures. October meetings mean early sunsets and dark parking lots!!
