HaHa! I just found this ~ what a great collage! Thanks Mike, there are a lot of happy memories in that collection! :D

Yeah Thor! I should have taken you here and showed you 'my house' ! You could have helped us rake the leaves, too!

I wish you knew this funny old song from the 1960s ("Alice's Restaurant"). The words were funny and the tune was fun, and it lasted more than 18 minutes. It was really a protest song about the Vietnam War, back when things were getting hot over there.

Arlo Guthrie's daddy was the great American folk singer Woody Guthrie. I guess the father taught the son how to captivate his audience.

(I'm still waiting for an answer from Alice :? . Maybe she doesn't want to meet me. )

HaHa! Ya, but you own a Z, and that makes you important.

And you're RESTORING an early 240, which makes you especially important!

I just KNOW they're going to have a Thanksgiving dinner at that Guthrie Center this year........wonder if I could get myself invited.....?

If security at that Thanksgiving day dinner is as tight as the White House you should have NO troubles getting in and sitting between Arlo and Alice!

Well, it's time to remember this magical place, and to imagine what events might be happening there tmrw, Thanksgiving day.

I sent an email to Alice, wishing her a happy turkey, and sent along a copy of Mike's great collage of our trip.

I hope tmrw at noon, radio stations across the country will play this song in honor of the most-remembered Thanksgiving escapade of the 1960s.

I'm sure the Guthrie Center will be serving a Thanksgiving Dinner which couldn't be beat.

Feel free to send Alice an email and wish her a happy day! Tell her you're a member of the Club if you do.

AliceBrock@Yahoo.com

Happy turkey, everyone!

Z ya ~
Frank

At 11:00 am on Tday, the song was played on the Pandora Radio via my Arlo Guthrie station. I hope you plan this trip next year, would like to go, looked like a cool thing to do. :D

It was soooo cool, Paul.

Maybe we could generate a Colin Cruise to Alice's Restaurant in the Spring? Nothing says we can't have more than one cruise for Colin in any given year.

I also hope to drive out to Cape Cod and meet Alice when the spring allows it.

Frank
