Hey guys. My Dad and I are heading up to this event this weekend...should be neat:

http://web.me.com/dogedoc/Mt._Equinox_H ... lcome.html

I know it's probably a bit late, and not very close....but just wanted to let you all know. We'll be sure to take some snappies.

Cheers,
Colin

Great trip this weekend to Vermont to watch the Vintage Sports Car Club of America hill climb at Mt Equinox. We stayed at Colin’s in-laws Summer place in Wells VT, about half an hour from the hill. Friday afternoon we hammered the Z over hill and dale to get there, perfect roads for Z, not to mention we were anxious to have a beer when we got there, it took about 4 hours.
Saturday dawned just beautiful, we spent the morning session at the base looking over the cars and watching them launch up the hill, great sights and sounds.
After lunch we were able to get up on the mountain to a designated spectator area and watch the cars. Looked pretty fast and scary.
I have attached some photos of the ride up to VT, the hill climb and a tough ride home.
The Z’s wipers were not actually working to well sooo lots of Rain-x helped to a point.
The Z ran perfectly, thanks to Vinny B. and the Datsun ad tag line “enjoy the ride” was certainly true.
Colin the older one.

Some photos from Saturday, they got two runs at the hill. Not sure if they ran Sunday as the weather was pretty terrible.

WOW! John Fitch was there, with his one-off Fitch Corvair? And I saw some mid-60s Lotus and Cooper F-1 cars!

Looks like a grand event. Wish I coulda.

But my Z had hiccups.

Frank

Yes, John Fitch was a guest of honor and that is his Fitch Corvair that went up the hill pretty good.
John is in his ninties now and can still lay one down.
First picture is in the staging area, picture two, John points to were he is going, kinda like a Babe Ruth move! The third, on the hill with his original helmet.

You guyZ are going to hate me for this; it must be the vintage in ME.
I like the Bugatti. Also the '51 Chrysler, the one with the old original
hemi. I think it was a 331, which was to the 354, 392, and 426 what
the 240Z was to its successors.
FWIW,...........~Rick~

That's the Type 35 SWB Bugatti supercharged 8cyl GrandPrix car, Rick.

John Fitch is one of my personal heroes.
