It was great to zee you again Greg, and you were smiling each time I saw you! :D

We all had a wonderful time at this event, and we showed our distant member Thor what the heart of this Club is like.

I hope he comes back soon, so we can do that again! Maybe we can get our members from Australia, Canada, Puerto Rico, France and Finland to come over, too!?
PARTY TIME! 8)

Kathy and I had a wonderful evening due to being able to meet and
schmooze with our Z Club family again. It's a shame it has to be a
2-hour (in this case, 4-hour) event just once a month. I think that an
all-day outing once per week would be just about right.

I'm unhappy that I didn't get a chance to meet Gabi and Max; it seems
like every time I could find a moment they were engaged with someone
else, or I was unable to find them. I did get a lot of opportunity to interact
with Thor, however, because he had been trying to track me down as ardently
as I had tried to catch him.

May I say how thrilled I am to call this gentleman my Z Brother. A
gentleman of this dignity, grace, and class, not to mention enthusiasm,
would make any brother or sister in any Z Club proud. I am so glad that
he chose ours. I have added a trip to the Schwartzwald (Black Forest) to
my wish list, preferably at a time when Thor has his gorgeous Z entered
in another high-profile car show. I promise you that the pride he would
realize at winning another best-in-show award would not exceed the pride
I would have at being there to share in his day of winning it.

To the others whom we met for the first time, this is not to minimize
our having met at this event. This was just so special an occasion, and
I intend to give you as much of my time as you want at future events.
I'm just so glad you have decided to join us. And if you haven't gotten
around to joining yet, you really should.

All Z Best,...........................Kathy & Rick

I would like to thank you all for making Wednesday night such a celebrated night!
I had an excellent time and it was an honor to meet Thor and his family.. My only regret was the time went by too quickly.

Thank you all, Dave

Yes. I don't know his name, altho he introduced himself during the May meeting (which we held there, too). He shoots events for EXECUTIVE and displays them on their own website.

Executive gets some mileage from sponsoring our Club. They show the public that they are supportive of our events and are interested in furthering the cause of the old Zs. It implies continuity along the Datsun/Nissan line, and generations of support by Nissan North America.

Because they broadcast live from the site that night (FM 104), many 'civilians' heard about the BBQ and the cars. They came to see and eat. While they were on the property the salesmen made themselves available to them and it wasn't lost on anyone that some of the Z cars were 30 or 40 years old (one was 41, right Rick? :D ). That goes a long way when you want to sell a new Nissan ~ you can point to the 60-70-80 happy people eating free BBQ and honestly say Datsun/Nissan generates loyalty and endures over generations.

One Z owner came in to make his final lease payment, which made him the newest OWNER of a Z car. While he was there, they told him about the Club and invited him to stay and meet us. He did, and was impressed enough to join us.

That's the advantage of continuous unions btwn Z Clubs and Nissan Dealerships all across the country. It works for both of us.

Right, Frank. Well, not quite. Since the single-digit prototype Z's were
built thru or during Sept 69, and the range of VIN I have for Oct 69
currently goes from 00013 to 00051 (with a couple of higher-number
aberrations), it would appear that Lucky 13 was built in very early Oct 69.

So, being very technical (picky), I would rather say that "she will be 41
in a little under 2 months." BTW I made your point several times during
the Convention and didn't catch any flak for it, as I thought I might.
But I guess you could say she is 40 until she actually turns 41.

But leading up to the Convention I had what you could call an Internet
altercation with the President of one Mid-Atlantic Z Club who swore and
be damned that there are no 1969 Z's, that is why it is the 40th Anniv.
Convention. I met some of the people who are members of that Club
and tried to wangle an invitation to their next car show. Partly to share
our car(s) with people who otherwise might not see them.
And partly to see what kind of reaction I get when I present titles and
registrations that declare two of our cars to be 1969's!

Thanks Frank,
Here's a direct link to the photos. I like the photo of Rick and I discussing my car.

Wow Mike ~ you have some really outstanding shots in there. The personal photos of the members are priceless.

I hope Thor copies some of these and puts them on his office walls at work, to remember us by!
