I have said this before but it bears repeating. I am so proud of Robin and the Foote family for getting this law passed. This was an act of tremendous generosity to the people of Rhode Island. The Foote family has no doubt saved many other families from going through the worst experience imaginable. I think we should all feel great pride that we have a member among us that despite his tremendous grief, was able to create and drive legislation that will benefit an entire state of people.

Personally I am honored to know Robin and to call him a friend. I am in awe of his strength and this accomplishment.

PS - As I wrote this post from Jamestown RI, a news update on the radio mentions the new law. I also watched coverage of the signing on the local TV news last night.

OUTSTANDING... :D :D :D The Bill signing is great news Thank you Robin for the Post. God Bless.

And Phil great job with the photos, they're awesome and what lens were you using? Thanks for sharing..

Hi Scott, I was shooting with a Canon 50D using either a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 or a Quantaray 70-300mm f/4-5.6 and high speed 16GB memory cards (Important when you are shooting 6.5fps burst mode; you need to download as fast as possible to increase the total number of shots in a burst)

The airshow pics were almost entirely the Quantaray and the Carshow and Bill signing were the 24-70. Airshow I was at ISO 100, Carshow ISO400 (it was shady), and the bill signing ISO 800 (so I wouldn't have to use flash).

For those of you that may be interested, I just found a website link from Bring-A-Trailer where Colin found his car. He made several entries about the car and his intentions.

Here it is:http://bringatrailer.com/2008/05/22/preserved-and-original-1972-datsun-240z/

Have a Nice 4th of July with your families.

Robin, after reading his posts I think Colin would have purchased that Z car no matter what condition. Was he actively looking for a Z like your old one or did he just come across it by chance? Jim

Hi Jim,

Colin was always looking at 240's that were coming on the market. This was a site that he really liked and often visited. When he found this car, he had a beautiful 1978 Red 280Z (couldn't afford a good 240 at the time so he bought the 280). I'll never forget the email he sent, he said "Dad, I found your car - check it out!". He said he'd sell his 280Z and we did (some 9 months later). The difference in cost was only the transportation to RI which I loaned him. With all the improvements, the car is now perfect, (including the dealer installed A/C - only needs a resistor replacement for the fan - 2 of which I finally found). The final thing we had on the agenda to make the car a perfect 10, was an engine bay reconditioning and a new paint job, less the body/door bumper strip and replacement of the current aftermarket racing mirrors with an original driver side one.

I still may do this at some point.

Thanks,

Robin

Hey All,

At the Airshow we shot a ton of video. I've edited together a quick video of the P-51 "photoshoot" and flyover. The audio is a recording I made of Sean Hopkins reading the poem "High Flight". (He also read this poem at the funeral. )

We have a ton of video of the Z cars that were there too. We plan on editing a longer video soon which will have them in it as well.

Anyway, enjoy. More to come as I have time to edit.

Phil, you did an outstanding job on this. Thank you.
It surprises me that I can still water-up so quickly about Colin.
This sure does it.

Well I liked it... including the music... I usually have big reservations on the music choices. Nice job, Zman.

Phil, thanks for sharing the video on the P-51 it is one of my favorite aircraft, powered by Rolls Royce. was a great tribute for such a Roll Royce family.
And yes Frank I have to Agree with you on the Tear shed.
I've told myself when I think of collin to look up and smile.
I'm so proud of that young man and his accomplishments, I will miss him deeply.
Mike I too thought that your video and music was great. You are another talented young man between your art work and the heart and soul that you put into your car I find Incrediable. It won't be long and you'll have that car looking and running beautifully.
I had my 240-z for 13 years to produce the results that I have now.
Be patient my friend and keep doing what your doing. :)

Very touching memorials to Colin, thank you for taking the time to put these together and for sharing them with us.
