what an amazing experience! it was an honor to be apart of such an awesome tribute to such an awesome man. i never knew Colin but from what i can see he was very loved. i am glad i could have helped in some way. and i was definitely fighting back tears as Robin talked to us prior to leaving Saturday morning.

Robin - you are a terrific father! Colin would have been sooo proud of you. it was great to finally meet you. i wish it had been under better circumstances. i would love to have you as a father anyday. the courage you showed to see to it that Colin's death wasn't for nothing was just incredible. if God forbid anything should ever happen to me i would hope that my family would go as far as you did for Colin.

It was hard sometimes to enjoy this once in a lifetime experience realizing that Colin wasn't there enjoying it with us but i would like to think he was there the whole time looking down on us and smiling.

Robin, it was an honor to serve tribute to Colin those 2 days, and I too will never forget those words, "Let 's do this for Colin" It was defiantly a day to wear sunglasses Saturday. The emotions of ultimate sadness for the loss of Colin, anger for the carelessness of one person to take anothers life, pride for many reasons, such as our country, the law enforcment that escorted us, and to everyone else, and last but not least happiness. Yea, very emotional, and that pic above is awsome, very touching. I haven't seen much of any news clips, but by God I hope some people got the idea that carelessness can cost a life. That a little common sense goes along way and obviusly both days we saw how people do not exercise common sense.......such as parking in an event that's clearly marked off, carrying surfboards through a bunch of classic cars....like they couldn't walk around, and the biggest loser goes to the person that had to cut into our parade just to get to the store up ahead.  Our prayers will always be with you, God Bless.

Cathy and I were very moved at the outpouring of support we witnessed from the members of the CT club. We are unbelievably honored to have been able to participate in this event. The whole time we were treated like family and the closeness of our fellow Z lovers at the CT club was wonderful to see. It was an honor for Cathy and I to be among some of the ones representing ZCCNE. We witnessed the love and dedication that Robin and his son Colin shared in the two beautiful 240z's they restored. Between staying at the Foote's guest house, the police escort to the air show, being on the flightline, the tribute flyby of that beautiful P-51 Mustang warbird and being with so many other Zs and their enthusiasts was almost too much to take.
Thank you Robin, for your care and hospitality, as well as showing us how great this shared passion really can be. Thank you also to all the members of CTZCC, it was great meeting you, and we hope to see you at future events. :D

Now that this Memorial Procession and Air Salute are completed and were such a smashing success, I want to remind everyone that it was originally the brainchild of our member TheZMan.

Waaayy back when he first heard about this tragedy in May, this was Mike Tubiak's second thought. Grief was his first. Working behind the scenes with Robin and the officers of this Club, Mike put his concept into reality. All the time he was helping to plan it, he also teamed up with our member Joe Plescia of Success Printing to produce the outstanding Colin Foote Memorial poster which we now display at each of our meetings and events.

Mike donated his considerable skills and talents as a Graphic Artist, and Joe donated his time and expertise as a professional printer, to present this Club with the outstanding Memorial poster we're so proud of today. This effort represents several hundred dollars worth of work, which they both donated to the cause for free, at a time when both of their own lives were filled with demanding personal events.

Robin, of course, jumped on Mike's suggestion for this Memorial Procession with both feet. Although his life was absolutely filled with the grief of losing his eldest son, trying to console his family, making funeral arrangements, and appearing before the RI Legislature to press into law a record-breaking common sense bill to remove habitual offenders from the RI roadways, Robin somehow found time to work with Mike's idea and coordinate the Z car participation and P-51 fly-over at the Quonsett Air Show.

The combined efforts of these 3 dedicated and highly motivated members resulted in an outstanding Memorial event, which was heartfelt by many thousands and which will be remembered for our lifetimes.

Mike, Joe and Robin, I salute you collectively and individually for your outstanding achievement in this event. You make us proud to know you.

We should scan and post here a copy of the flyer you guyz printed for this event, as well.

Wow I really don't know what to say. I just did what I felt was right. I didn't know Colin but thought to myself what I would want people to do for me. The cruise idea was one of the first things that popped into my mind. If I died I would hope something similar would be done for me. We always get together for cruises to just drive so I figured why not have a cruise that really means something more than just driving our Z cars. For those that were in the parade in the morning you know what I mean. This was more than cruising around town. So many thoughts go through your head. My payment was seeing the joy on Robin's face when he saw the posters when I took one out to display it. That was all I needed. If that helps him sleep just a little better at night then I couldn't be any happier. So Frank thank you for your kind words. I'm sorry I missed you on Saturday. And I would like to add it was great to be involved in all of this. A huge honor. Thanks to everyone who participated!! I am sure we will always remember our fallen Z brother. And I vote for a Colin cruise to be added to our yearly events.

Hello CTZCC! My name is Phil and I am one of Colin's friends. You might have seen me wandering around at the BBQ/Carshow and Airshow with a big camera shooting photos of most everything...

I wanted to pass along photos I took at the Airshow and BBQ/Carshow. Your cars are all amazing and it was totally awesome to see them all on Friday and Saturday. My friend Matt and I were also shooting video at the Airshow and got tons of footage of all the Z's. We are working on editing the video together and once it's done, we'll post to youtube and I'll put the link here.

From Robin:

The Governor's bill signing event for Colin's law was awesome. Below is one link to the coverage.

To Colin's Band of Brothers,

Today was an historic event with the signing by RI Governor Carcieri of Colin's Law. I have to say it was an absolutely magnificent event, a very humbling experience and way more than I had visualized in my mind. I honestly felt Colin's presence and actually felt a moment of history in the making. The ultimate realization that Colin will live on through a new law that will absolutely save lives - is a great comfort to our family and a great honor for Colin.

The signing of this law was the culmination of weeks of work by scores of people in the RI legislature and hundreds, if not thousands of Rhode Islanders who voiced their outrage that such a horrible, senseless tragedy should ever have occurred. I want to thank Mike Tubiak, Joe Plecia, Ross Williams, Keith Hultmark, Frank T., Paul Makin and every other member of the CTZCC who made the weekend events with the Bar-B-Q and Memorial Parade such an incredible success. I've already had some discussion with Ross about the prospects of making this an annual CTZCC event.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank all of you for your heartfelt words of condolence and strengthening words of comfort. This would have been so much more difficult without the relationship that has been nurtured with you all. It is indeed a sad thought that Colin will not be with us in body for all the wonderful future Z Car events and camaraderie, but I think we all know he will constantly be with us in spirit. When you think of Colin, please smile, don't cry - I know he'd want it that way. (Christopher Cross)

I believe the greatest honor a man can receive is the respect and admiration of his peers. It is very bittersweet to acknowledge, on Colin's behalf, the beauty and detail of the work and effort he invested in his 1970 240Z. He was very, very proud of the results of his work and would accept nothing but perfection. It is, in a very real way, the personification of What Colin was all about. Featuring his Z as the Ride of the Month, is a very fitting tribute. His red 240 Z has become to me, as well as many of you, a living tribute to his effort and pursuit of excellence in everything he did.

Once again, on behalf of Maryann and Christopher, I thank you all and look forward to seeing you at the CTZCC Annual Show on July 17th.

Robin Foote

We're sorry we were not able to do much either in support of or partici-
pation in the commemorative event. Nor were we able to do anything
in support of the legislation other than to post a comment in the news-
paper blog, but this isn't to say we weren't rooting hard.

Now I'm wondering what CT has on the books for repeat offenders of
the type just experienced? If CT has little, no, or wimpy legislation on
the books, perhaps it is the ideal opportunity to push them toward a
Colin's Law (and in his memory, even if not recognized by this State),
BEFORE someone in CT must go through trauma and grief due to the
effects of woefully poor foresightedness.

I will try to contact Vinny Candelora and Ed Meyer. Who are YOUR
State Representative and Senator?
