I'm not actually "suspicious" yet, but I am curious ~ it strikes me as odd that most of the faces in these crowds seem to be the same (young) age. Wonder if it was a university or something? You'd think that someone 100 years old might have some older folks in his birthday crowd......

When I was in Okinawa you could 'rent' 3 minutes on a 'photo-op' platform, with a crowd already assembled in front of it. Usually it was for weddings or a birthday or something. The photographers-for-hire had lights already set up and, when it was your turn, they changed the background props to something appropriate for your occasion and you got to make a stage entrance to a cheering crowd of maybe 100 really enthusiastic cheerleader-type kids you didn't know. It was your "3 minutes of fame" and your photographs were included in the price. At the end of your time you left the stage and the next group or individual came up, and the crowd cheered for them the same way.

They assembled every weekend and you had to register in advance. I often thought it would be a cool way to make some money here in the States. Wonder if they used that technique in this case? Hope not ~ I consider Mr. K to be important enough in his own right to merit a large crowd for free, where ever he goes!

(Of course, at age 100, with a successful life, these might all be his Grandkids!)

Hi Frank, This was no photoshop moment,Pete & Gayle Brock attended this event in Tokyo,700+ Z cars. I think the crowd shots are great to get the feel of the Tokyo owners.
