11:19 am at my office with a Box O' Joe... We'll see who swings by. I have a feeling Paul, Jim, and I will enjoy the Museum and some Pizza later today.

Sun's out, temps are great!

OK, the fun run has just ended after Al and Paul left my place about 20 minutes ago.

This beautiful October Day started with me, Z(W the Cat), a box of Coffee and some munchkins at my office. I enjoyed some coffee, some munchkins and the company of Z(W the cat). No other Z's came by so I packed up and headed back home to Groton in my Z.

I pulled into the Nautilis Submarine Museum and found Paul Mackin there. Paul and I chatted and waited when low and behold, Jim, Lisa, and Glorianna Jackson pull in with Jim's right hand drive Fairlady 280ZX...all the way from Long Island.

We chatted and went in to the Museum to learn about the History of Subs in the US. During the short film, Al Babik called to say he was on the way. Paul and I stepped out of the film to meet Al and check out the periscopes. I took a picture of our Z's in the parking lot through the lens of the periscopes looking out the roof of the building. Al came in and we all toured the Nautilus Sub, one of the first Nuclear subs every made.

The sun was out and we had great views of the Thames River.

Jim, Lisa, Glorianna, Paul, Al and I walked back out to the cars and there we find Phil Parent's 280ZX turbo in the lineup. The good news is Phil solved his running issues and decided to meet us during his shakedown run. Once again we chatted then got in our Z's to head out for Pizza. While leaving the sub base Al's "Lili Red 240Z" backfired loudly and stalled scaring the heck out of a young Groton Police Officer as he passed us. The Police officer spun around and turned his lights on as Al and Paul pushed "Lil Red" to the side of the road. I forgot to pull my camera out. Luckily Master Mechanic Paul got Al running and the Police Officer was cool and we were all on our way.

We continued to the Valentinos's Pizza place in Ledyard, CT. I tried for a spirited ride on Rte 214 but a minivan slowed us down. We arrived at Valentinos and went inside. A 370Z pulled in and the driver got out and walked the line of our 300ZX, 280ZX Fairlady, 280ZX Turbo x2, and a 240Z. Antonio was given a Z spotter card and we should be seeing him and his 350Z buddy joining soon.

Inside we enjoyed great pizza, some laughs, & great company all around. Phil left early to head back home for dinner with the family. I was just happy to see him and His Z back on the road.

We went back out to the parking lot after dinner and Al's Lil' Red 240Z was refusing to start again (just like the end of the Sandy Hook meet). Paul and Al were back under the hood. A real Nice man stopped to see if he could help. He turned out to be CTZCC Member's Jason DeCristofaro's Dad.

Al's Lil Red is running again and Jim, Lisa, and Glorianna leave to head back to Long Island. I was glad to get to know Jim and his family a little more today. I wish he and Clive great luck with the NYZCC (Go to thier meet on 10/10 as listed in the Events Forum. I'll be out of town, but you should Go!)

Paul, Al and I head back to my place for a Night Cap. We had a great time.

I had a great day, Thanks Jim for coming all this way from LI to spend time with us. I am glad it was a small crowd because I enjoyed getting to know you and your family better. Phil, Glad the 280ZX is up and Running. And Paul and Al...we have to keep meeting like this!

Those from the Groton and New London area...where were ya????

Enjoy the pictures.

Lil' Red will be getting a new Cap and Rotor next week. Lil Red has to be in top form to escort #13 to the NYZCC meet on 10/10.

Thanks for a great time. Lisa, Glorianna and I had really did have a great time and spending time with great people is what it is all about.
Don't forget I was a member of the CTZCC before NYZCC and will always be.

It's just nice to know there is another Z club a little closer offering more quality Z time.

Jim, Lisa and Glorianna(the Z family)

Hey guys and gals, had a great time, learned alot about Subs and history. Also learned that Anything that sounds like a gun can attract a cop, especially when it goes off in his ear. If I could of captured that on film, I mean timing was right on Al. I even saw flames. It was just amazing we found the center piece to the cap just laying in the housing. Jim and family, was great to see you make it from the long Island, hope the ride back with the full moon above was as nice for you as for me. Of course now I have a cold from riding with the tops down, oh well, it was worth it. Glad to see you make it Phil, the 280zx ruled that day. :D Kieth, that was a great little spot, I should bring my pops to check that out since he's x-navy. I also found out from him that a fellow retired teacher's father (Ray) was big in the whole sub thing back in the days, and alot of his stuff is in that museum. I should try and get Ray to go, since he has a z31 himself. Well, another great Z adventure as always, and will see whoever at the next one. 17th for me. :D
