I just spoke with our food Vendor - Marilyn's Dancing Dogs of Middletown, CT.

She will be there at 9am for all your Coffee and Breakfast Needs and Staying Right Through Lunch with Hot Dogs, Fresh Burgers, Sausage & Peppers, Philly Cheese Steaks and some sides. She'll also have plenty of water, juices, sodas, and gatorade.

So If you stay out too late on Friday Night and don't have time for breakfast before you head to the show, we got you covered. Just follow your nose....and you'll find the food.

**Did we mentioned Middletown Nissan also is bringing in a local radio station for the Noon hour...

See you there!

Well I'm bringing a Z with me.

Sean, a local Z31 owner wants in to the show before he sells his car (needs something for his family). So we are going to prep his car and enter it together.

We are going to clean up the paint, polish some stuff, throw on a couple of my spare parts for fun and be there for 9 AM.

Keep a look out for the handsome guy in aviators.

Great idea on parking all the Zs en masse. What's a club for?
Let the dodge neons and other forms of proletariat transportation park across the street.

Actually, I was kdding around about grouping Z's by model for easier judging. That is exactley what we'll try to do. Only Z's registered for the show will be parked in the show area. Z's not entering will have join the Neons... :)

I did not mean to get off topic. To repeat Ross' note:

Weather: The latest forecast calls for "mostly sunny with a high of 65 degrees". So it's shaping up to be a perfect day to spend outside with the Z's. In case the forecast changes, please check the web-site for any last minute updates.

Goodie bags: With T-shirts, dash plaques, club magnets, keychains and other freebies included, I am confident that people are going to get their money's worth this weekend!

Registration: Given the few remaining days until the show, please do not mail any more registration forms. Instead, please bring a completed form with you to the show. Forms can be downloaded at http://www.ctzcc.com/ShowRegistrationForm09.pdf. Forms will also be available at the show. $20 day of the show.

Car #00013: If you were not fortunate enough to be at our last meeting, you still have an opportunity to meet the owners of Car #13 and see it in person at our show. This car is believed to be the first Datsun 240Z available for sale in the U.S. and it's significance in the collector car world cannot be overstated. It appears that a feature article on this car will appear in the November issue of Nissan Sport magazine.

Food: Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase from The Dancing Dog concession truck So bring your Z and a co-pilot, but don't bring your lunch!

Raffle: 50/50 and table raffle tickets will be sold until 1:00pm. Last year's 50/50 winner took home $102!

Entrance: There are two entrances to Middletown Nissan. So as not to disrupt their normal operations, we have been asked to use the entrance on the far left of the dealership.

Parking: If you are not going to register your car in the show, please park directly across the street at Middletown Nissan's overflow facility.

Z Y'all at the Show.

TRAFFIC ALERT:

Those traveling I-95 North and were planning to take Rte 9 North (Exit 69) to Middletown should seek an Alternate Rte to Route 9 North (Through Clinton Rte 81N Exit 63) or Pick-up I-91N in New Haven.

The Baldwin Bridge over the CT River is undergoing expansion joint repairs and only has 1 lane and the shoulder open. Been backed up solid for two days. Friday's traffic is currently backed up south of Clinton.

I think that the only reason that our events succeed as well as they do is because of the people we have in our club as officers and as members. I had so many people volunteer to help yesterday that I had to turn them away. That has never happened before. So many people contributed to the success of yesterday's show that at the risk of missing someone, I feel compelled to call them out by name:

Dave Calabrese and his staff at Middletown Nissan. These guys showed up early (Dave pulled in 5 minutes after me at 7:15!) and were extremely supportive and excited about the event during the entire planning process. They even had the parking lot cleaned and power-washed before we got there!

Keith Hultmark: Keith was my right-hand man agreeing to do anything I asked of him both before and during the show. He truly made this show much better than it otherwise would have been and basically worked at doing something ALL DAY LONG. Keith is the best Events Director a club could hope for!

Frank Thomas: Frank managed the process of getting car #13 and #171 to the show, which might sound easy, BUT IT WASN'T. Frank spent many, many hours with Rick and Kathy Morgan getting the car ready to be transported, arranging trailers, and getting it to the show a day ahead of time. Frank was also in charge of getting our out of town dignitaries from Florida to the show and also for making sure everyone had name-tags on (which helped me considerably when someone whose name I had forgotten approached!).

Phil Parent: Taking photos at club events sounds easy right? But what it really means is the stress of covering an event from start to finish and recording it properly for our website and club archives. In this case, it also meant covering the one-time only re-introduction of car #13. Phil took almost 300 photos yesterday and his dedication and coverage was (and always is) top-notch.

Dave Sirico, Mike Rosann, Greg Emmons and Sal Imperato: These guys ran the parking coordination like pros and took responsibility for making it all work. This is not an easy task when everyone arrives at different times but must be parked in the correct class. They also stood in to do many other jobs like picking certificate winners.

Greg Emmons: I gave Greg the thankless task of coordinating the Nitrogen service. Greg picked up the ball and ran with it making this one activity that no one else had to worry about.

Brenda & Danielle Williams: Brenda ran the registration table with Keith and kept everyone organized and properly registered. If this process is not carried out correctly it puts the whole show at risk. Danielle and her friend Kyle Bernardo spent the morning selling raffle table and 50/50 tickets doing a great job at raising funds for the club.

Jim Hagani: How succesful do you think our show would have been without our web-site and discussion forum? Jim keeps these things running and is constantly updating our web-site with announcements and enhanements.

And finally and most importantly, I'd like to thank someone above who has watched down and continuously blessed our events with perfect weather.

Thanks to all of the people above and others that volunteered to make yesterday's show a smashing success!

Sincerely, Ross

This was the best show EVER, :D how are we going to top this one, ummmmm, can we get Mr K. next time. :D Thanks to Rick for the Z history of #13, what an honor. I know what you mean AJ, (nice pic of my Z by the way, to bad I didn't have time to install those VG flares, :( ) I got talkin so much I missed out on the sausage, peppers and onions, forgot to buy raffle tickets, and didn't finish my vote sheet, (only the modified section,) but had a great time, great to see everyone. I even got some parts for my Z, nice. I would like to thank those for the reward, I really appreciate it, I was not expecting that, WOW, I'm honored. :D We got to make these shows longer. I could of stayed another day. I would also like to thank the guys from the ZCCR that showed up, and I hope some members here would join me next year at there 3 day event, I'm already planning it. :D I also thank my wife for bearing with me to the very end, because this was the greatest honor of all.........................................................
