Good luck and have fun. I'll most likely be working Saturday A.M. unless I see a chance to escape late this week.

Let's see some role calls and rendevous points. CT folks, there is a nice rest stop on I-84 just before you get to Taconic State Pkwy. NY Folks did you want to set-up a meeting spot and time just outside the fairgrounds so the Z's can all drive in together.

I am going to setup a meeting place so that we can get as many Z's together as possible before entering the field.

Let's meet at this location from 8:30am to 9:00am. At 9:00AM we will roll out of our meeting point and head into the show site.

MEETING SPOT - 8:30-9:00AM May 2nd 2009
55 E. Market Street
Rhinebeck, NY 12572

There is apparently a good sized parking lot near the aroi Thai Restaurant.

If I get the Z running and tuned, I'm in...

even if it can make it there, it's 100 miles, so AAA can tow me back...

I updated this last night berore I went to bed, don't know where the heck it went to ....... The day dawned cool and damp but we met up at the planned parking lot location in Rhinebeck, Dave made the 2 hr ride from CT, Tom with his 280Z28 and Mark with his sweet 81 ZX were present and accounted for, we expected more to show up and waited for a little bit, no more comers.. so we proceeded in to the show grounds together.... After a while at the show I got a call from Mike Engelhardt that he was on his way and would be arriving shortly, A monster truck had parked at the end of our clutch of Z's and when he got back from registering I asked if he could jump down one spot as we had another Z car on the way, at the risk of him exercising the power of the rebel flag stcker in his back widow he obliged and moved down for us ... As the day progressed we went off in groups to tour the show field, get some eats and check out the car corral, we started out with fleeces, hoods and runny noses, about noon or so the sun showed up and last night I was nursing the sunburn on my face and neck as we ended up in t-shirts.... Toms 280Z28 won an award, I told him if anyone was going to win, it would be him as we all know how beautiful his car is... The official end time for the show was 4:00 pm but Mike and I hung out til around 5 or so just enjoying the day... All in all it was a real nice event and a good time was had by all who attended, I'm glad Summer is just beginning and we have a few months to enjoy our cars and getting together to share those interests with one another.... Here are a few pics for those who didn't make it.........

Pretty nice pix, Tom! Thanks!
What's that weird-looking thing parked beside you, with the doors?

Wish the weather had been better and I had some wheels ~ I'd have gone just to support the Club and see the cars. For a brief moment I thought I was gonna get a chance to meet Marc_A there, but my transmission died on Friday and I'm searching the couch pillows for $5,000 to replace it.

Thanks for representing the Cause, anyway!

Frank

Sorry about your tranny, you could buy a complete nice running long lasting Volvo for what your tranny will cost you...... Just a thought.....

sorry the membership got scared away because the weather forcast called for rain. i am nursing a good case of sun burn right now because of saturdays' show.i have learned to never listen to the weatherman when i go to shows. sunday was nice until the afternoon and then it rained lightly and got chilly. i had brought and old truck up to the show on sat. morning early to put in the car corral( for sale) and it didn't look good then. the sun came out, however, the checkbooks did not, and i had to drag my old hotrod home on sunday night. if anyone is looking for a nice old hotrod truck i have a 1954 ford f 100 with a chevy motor and auto trans for sale. no, it doesn't have a datsun motor, silly!! mike
