I’m at sisters in Stratford now to help with some things, but will definitely leave in time for our family gathering... and of course piZZa.

Well, we had another enjoyable CTZCC meeting at Paul Miller Nissan last night!

Thanks again to Jeff Wirth, Greg Catandella, and Paul Miller for hosting our meeting. I was told that we had over 30 people show up last night. Great turnout given the fact that we had over 6 inches of rain (finally  ) for a few days in parts of CT just prior to the meeting. Again, you folks did a pretty good job of confirming your attendance. Just one pizza pie was left! Frank T, sorry you missed out. We hope you are feeling better soon.

I really enjoyed listening to the members sharing their Z stories and "issues" with each other. Nothing like sharing information on how to keep our precious Z cars running well.

I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures that Alan took as well as the group shots taken by Jim Hagani. Stay tuned.

Our next and last meeting of the season will be on October 5th in Old Saybrook CT. Be sure to check this website for updates, fun runs and other member posted events.

Cheers!

Sorry to have missed this one. Sounds like a great time.

I had hoped to feel better in time for this, but a full moon, the death of the Queen, and something I shouldn't have eaten all ganged up on me. I feel better now, but a day late.

My personal condolences to Colin the Elder for his personal loss of the lady who ruled his nation for most of his life.

Frank

Thanks Frank, We all missed you at a great meeting, thanks to all at Paul Miller Nissan.
Frank, as a kid I remember her Coronation in 1953. What a party, it was great, no school, every city, town and village celebrated for several days.
She was super active all the way to the end...The pubs were filled at the Coronation, tonight they are filled again to celebrate her life...

The Beatles/Abbey Road,1969:

Her Majesty is a pretty nice girl
But she doesn't have a lot to say
Her Majesty is a pretty nice girl
But she changes from day to day
I wanna tell her that I love her a lot
But I gotta get a belly full of wine
Her Majesty is a pretty nice girl
Someday I'm gonna make her mine, oh yeah
Someday I'm gonna make her mine

While backpacking in Germany I met a British couple on the Queen's birthday whose husband proudly claimed to have met her some years ago, then displayed a photographic calling card showing him kissing her hand as a younger man. He said the Crown issued him a small box of those very high-quality cards, so he could carry one in his wallet for life. The back of the card detailed the time/date and reason for his meeting.

We discussed The Queen, James Bond, Austin Healeys, Jaguars, Morgans, Foyle's War and Honeysuckle Weeks. He lives in Hastings and had watched most of the episodes being filmed.

That's Welsh actress Honeysuckle Weeks playing Sam(antha) Stewart, Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle's designated driver from the WRNS. Foyle was played by Michael Kitchens, a Brit actor at LEAST on-par with Judi Dench.
"Foyle's War" was about a gifted police investigator stuck in Hastings during WWII.
If you haven't watched the entire series at least twice, your life is incomplete.
