Hello all,

My wonderful wife Brenda will be out of town the weekend of October 30th - so I am thinking of hosting a Z outing.

Yes, I've moved to RI, but there are roads that lead here and Z club members that live here! Our long-standing members Paul and Patty Mackin are right over the bridge from me.

So, here is the question:

How many of you would be interested in driving your Z to Jamestown, RI for one last gathering of the season?

It would be Saturday, October 30th with a rain date of Sunday, October 31st.

I have room for only about 25 cars so folks would need to register in advance.

If you would be interested, please indicate such by replying to this post.

If you want to check the distance, I am located in Jamestown, RI.

I am hoping to be at the next meeting on the 13th.

Sincerely,

Ross

I would do this if I could get the Z back home before dark.
Would this be in addition to Hammonasset or in place of it? We intend to discuss a fall picnic at Hammonasset when we meet at Miller. It would be great to have two options to chooZe from.

Hi Frank,

I don't want to compete with any other CTZCC outing. So we can discuss at our meeting next week. But this outing would be in addition to anything the club plans. Think of this as a "fun run" as opposed to a club event. Food and drinks will be on me.

Ross, this is great that you still love us! I suspect you will get far more than 25 cars descending upon your neighborhood. There would be no competition involved; we were casting about to find a workable venue for a final picnic which would fit everyone, and the Hammonasset Beach was mentioned, due to its size and nearness to all our eastern members. I am scheduled to meet with the secretary there tmrw to view their picnic facilities. I can take a few pictures and then make a report at the Miller meeting.

I actually see no reaZon why we can't have both! More gooder!

Hi All! Here are some additional details on the Fall Outing in Jamestown on Saturday, October 30th.

First, YOU MUST REGISTER! Registering is easy and doesn't mean you have to attend. It simply gives me a headcount of those likely to come and whether they will be driving a Z.

To REGISTER, just send me an e-mail at rosswilliamsz@gmail.com (don't forget the "z") telling me your name, year of Z you are bringing or non-Z, and cell phone (in case I need to get in touch to cancel or move to the rain date). I will respond with my address.

I have off-street parking for only about 20-25 cars so parking will be reserved based upon your registration. If I exceed 20-25, or you are not driving a Z, you may still attend but will need to park out in the street (plenty of parking).

Additional details:
10:00am to 3:00pm
Food and beverages provided!
Spouses / children welcome
Family friendly -no alcohol or drugs
Neighbor friendly - no revving engines or burn-outs
Pool will be open and heated

Rain date is Sunday, October 31st.

So start sending me those e-mails!!

PLEASE NOTE: The Fall Outing for this weekend is CANCELLED due to weather.

There is a 90% chance of rain on Saturday and a 40% chance on Sunday. Even if Sunday were to be clear, my lawn would be so wet from Saturday that it would be a soggy mess.

My magic wand has failed me!

Ross,

That is unfortunate but understandable. The weather this entire week has been horrible and I can't imagine what we would do to your lawn.

Regarding your magic wand, maybe your current subscription only covers Connecticut based activities? It's time to add the Rhode Island edition!

Phil
