I'll be elsewhere, or I'd go.

This should be one of the highlight events of our Zeason. The $55 combination ticket for the Sunday Car Show and Monday Race Day is a real deal. For those of you who can't make race day, you can attend the car show on Sunday. All proceeds go to charity and the car entry fee with driver is only $10. Spectator fee with outfield parking is only $15 for the Sunday show. Details can be found on the Limerock Park website.

Let's get together again at Limerock for some great car fun!

At this point, I am not sure who will be attending the Car Show on Sunday, the 29th. I plan to arrive at the gate around 8:45.

I've entered my car in the ""Import Car (any year)" class. If we want to have a better chance of parking together, let's try to meet or at least arrive at the gate about the same time.

I hope to see some Z club buddies there!

Just saw this! I'm on the hill in the outfield today. Looks like a beautiful day for racing. Stay hydrated!

Mike,

Did you come down to the infield at all? My car was parked in Paddock B for the track tour laps which went out about 1:15pm. Great day, sorry I missed you. The show on Sunday was great also. I assume you were there on the Monday race day. I'm posting a few pics from the weekend .

Well, I'm glad I took advantage of the SVRA ticket package for the Sunday show and Monday race events as both of those days turned out to be great days to be at the track. Saturday's weather wasn't that great I was told.

As it turns out there were actually two car shows on Sunday, one sponsored by SVRA/Hagerty and one by the Royals. Both shows were well attended, and awards were given out at both of them. There were three other Z's at the Royals show, all from the Long Island Z Car Club. Richard Sadis is their president and we spent some time discussing Z cars and the past events including the Darien Fall outings which he had also attended.

When I arrived and parked on the track for the Sunday show, I ended up parking right next to a pretty yellow Morgan roadster which I thought I recognized from the Wallingford car show that a few of us attended early in the season last year. As it turns out it was the same car and it is owned by I nice fellow named Paul from Bethel.

I cannot tell you just how many people stopped by to chat about Z cars. Many of them owned one, still owned one, or wished they owned one. I was also surprised at the number of track staff that stopped by with their Z stories and compliments. So many nice folks with interesting stories made this by itself a terrific day. I felt like I was a movie star when I was leaving the track on Sunday by the number of people taking pictures and waving at me (OK, really at my car :D ).

The racing on Monday was another great day with lots of car classes including GT, Trans Am, and various Group Class cars. Kevin from our club ended up showing up with his buddy and we sat in a shady spot on the infield hill area facing the "S's" where we watched three Z cars battling it out in one of the classes. Those of us with the SVRA ticket package were able to park in a "chained off" area of Paddock B and take 3 parade laps at a decent speed around the track right after lunch time. This package was a great value at only $55 for two days for two people. :D

I've attached a few picks that I took with my phone. Too bad I didn't see more of our club guys there. :(

Sorry that I missed what sounds like a great event John! Two days of great cars and weather, truly awesome.

Glad to hear that your Z represented us so well.

I'm still struggling with the fact that I no longer drive a classic car. I remember that folks always seemed to have a story of how they, their brother, father, uncle, etc once owned a Z.

Itz okay Phil, you still own a Z, that should be therapy enuff! (If not, a few deep breaths and a few cold ones should take the edge off). Besides, your classic iz still in the family!

I came to the paddock for food and souvenirs... Didn't walk to the midway at all it was so warm out.

Sorry that i once again missed you. I also missed out on the ticket package ... That's a deal you all got.

I've got the same plans for the next major... Up on the outfield hill for IMSA. Look for my datsun flag. I'll throw a few extra cold beverages in the cooler for any z car friends who stop by!
